In fact, antisemitism was common in America prior to the 2nd World War. Perhaps not a virulent as in Europe, but ever present.

The antisemitic, and popular, radio broadcasts of Father Coughlin and the antisemitic writings of Ford founder Henry Ford are only two examples of mainstream antisemitism in the US.

Even in my lifetime, it was perfectly acceptable to place a job or housing advertisement in newspapers with the words "Gentiles only need apply". Even into the early '70s, as many as 10% of US hotels had a policy of restriction to Jewish guests.

US college campuses, always openly antisemitic, have gone from subtle antagonism of Jewish students to openly violent confrontation.

Yet the Liberals do nothing to stop or even slow it. IMO, any Jewish American that actively works against the State of Israel should be refused Aliyah. The Nazis weren't socialists.. They killed or imprisoned Communists, Socialists, Democrats and Jews. There is some overlap there as MANY Jewish people were Socialists and Democrats.

Nobody would accept the Jewish refugees .. In part because we were coming out of the Depression and WW2 and there was a concern about jobs. We pushed 600,000 more Holocaust survivors on Palestine, but te concensus seems to be that we didn't do enough to save them .. WW2 in Europe and the Pacific wasn't ENOUGH.
