I lived a couple of hours drive from Dallas which was Von Erick country. Watched them and the Freebirds battle it out every Saturday night on TV
Sometime they would come to my town and I'd take my kids to go watch them. Real or not it was great fun. ..

My dad used to take me to Greensboro or Charlotte.

Same thing, basically.

Those old timers took that shit seriously, too.

They'd get mad as fuck. Even go efter em sometimes. lol.

Back then I guess you could get away with that stuff. Nowadays you'd get piled on by a bunch of security detail and chargerd with some kind of terrorism®.
