It's interesting to watch that video of members of Congress being asked when they think the IRA will start to bring down inflation and every single one of them immediately replies that the price of gas going down means that it already HAS! The problem with that talking point however is that the price of gas has gone down for the past month and a half and they just passed this bill this week! Then when they're pressed on the issue and asked to describe what in the bill is anti inflationary...they tend to suddenly remember they're late for a meeting and run away!

So my question is a simple one. What happens when the American people realize that this bill doesn't help them with inflation?

Under Biden we're on track to have over TWO MILLION illegals enter the country this year and more people are dying of Fentanyl overdoses than were killed by Covid! The supply chain problems? Joe and Mayor Pete are STILL trying to straighten that out two years later! Afghanistan? Trump left our Idiot in Chief an agreement in place to get troops out but Biden FUBARED the withdrawal so badly that thousands of people needlessly died! Inflation? Trump left the Idiot in Chief with everything he needed for a tidal wave of economic growth but Joe's economic policies created so much inflation that the Fed is now looking to raise interest rates to combat that which is going to put us into a recession! Did you eat paint chips as a baby? The economy was a fucking WRECK when Biden inherited it. 6% unemployment, busted supply chains, etc. Now, there were a few additional wrinkles.. One of them is the "Great Resignation". People realized what complete assholes their employers were during Trump Plague, or at least some of them did, and a lot of them took advantage of the Biden Recovery to improve their situation. This along with the increase of global commodity prices, have driven inflation.


As I said, an election cycle has four components.


1) Republicans get thrown out on their cans for fucking things up.
2) Republicans whine Democrats aren't fixing the things they fucked up fast enough.
3) After Democrats fix the things Republican fuck up, Republicans start whining about bullshit social issues like gays and trannies and CRT.
4) If all else fails, the REpublicans cheat.

We are pretty much out of phase 2 now, because the recession is probably going to be so mild most people won't notice it. (Also, some elements as stated above. The job market still has more jobs than it has people to fill them.)
