Manchmal kann man sich auch um sein Leben lachen.

Sometimes you can laugh your life away.

Few want Jesus to return because if and when he does it will be the end of our wonderful civilization as we know it. Many Christians want Jesus to return, but not just yet.

those are the sinners, desert dwellers who know they are failures and will never be admitted to the everlasting and do nothing to keep heavens creation, garden earth holy as requested ...

and likewise in the same fashions to corrupt their own spirits and everything around them.

those that triumph over evil will see the heavens long before their return.

Saved from our sins, of course. This is the heart of the Gospel
There are way too many 'believers' that are just flat out evil people, who believe that you can be saved from your sins, therefore they will sin repeatedly.

He was asleep in the tomb all day Friday.
No, he was killed on Friday and rose "on the third day". Friday was the first day of his death.

They didn't think in terms of being dead for zero days back then. This was before the concept of zero existed in Greek and Roman numbering.

It's the same reason there's no year 0. The calendar goes from 1 BCE to 1 CE

Jesus didn't reference time in the grave according to how a "day" was reckoned in his time, but how a day was reckoned in Jonah's time. He gave "an evil generation" Jonah's version of three days and three nights as a "sign", a sign that has been rejected ever since. The sign, if studied, reveals that Jesus was the Passover lamb, killed according to the time proscribed.

Christmas is nice, but Easter is better.

I never liked Easter as a kid. Christmas has the trees, lights, decorations, TV shows, lots of snacks and candies, vacation from school and the presents. Easter sucks for boys--- little bunnies and pink Easter eggs. Then you have to get all dressed up and go to church. And you always end up spending the rest of the day with cousins over at some relatives house where you have to be on good behavior.

Can't disagree with this--with the bonus that, where I live, you're surrounded by SPRING! advertising but it's often still snowing

After church people would go to our capital square to show off new clothes and enjoy the day. It was usually sunny but chilly. I still have photos of us as kids celebrating our new clothes on the square.
