Opinion | Trump’s arrest call to arms was bad. Kevin McCarthy just made it much worse.

Those of us who support ex-one term president Donald Trump have to be, not only stunned, but secure in the knowledge that Trump has some of the greatest legal minds in the country working on his behalf!

Who among us knew that his supporters Kevin McCarthy, Michael Pence, Lindsey Graham and Maria Bartiromo, among others, have such great legal expertise and are so knowledgeable of the potential charges against Trump. They obviously have tuned in to the thinking of the grand jury at work in New York and have expressed legal opinions supporting Trump based on facts they know and the rest of us don't. Or, someone in the New York courts is feeding them facts of Trump's potential legal jeopardy enabling them to use their great legal minds to judge those facts.

Despite his obvious fear of potential indictment, which caused him to issue a call to arms of his maga mob, Trump should be secure in the knowledge that thanks to the great legal minds supporting him, he has nothing to fear.

The most important question now is on whether Trump can lead an antiwar movement against Biden's war with Russia.

Ordinarily this would be quite impossible for a challenge against a president, but this war is like no other in it's consequences for America.

There has never been so much to win for America defeating Russia (and now China too).

And there has never been so much to lose by not stopping Russia, China, and the Brics now.

Unfortunately for Biden, there is no possibility of winning.

For Trump there is winning in accepting an equal or greater alliance of power, and go forward in cooperation with the China/Russia factor.

McCarthy's wading into an ongoing criminal investigation is bad enough. But the California Republican added a bit of extra spice to try to keep up the façade that he’s just doing his job as speaker. “I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” McCarthy wrote. Arguably not his best work as far as fig leaves go.
