The Government Handed The Navy $12 billion To Build New Submarines

And Not A Single Submarine Was Built.

When investigators asked where the money went, Navy officials shrugged and said they had no idea.
“There’s a case where I think Senator Collins was telling me about how she gave the Navy $12 billion for more submarines, got no extra submarines, and then held a hearing to say where the $12 billion go.

Commentary:
Who’s pockets did it end up in? Someone in the navy had to be involved, or they would have said something.
All this happening and to think this is an acceptable answer for accounting for 12 billion dollars and zero submarines.
We got off cheap on the subs! I think the Navy blew well over $100 Billion on the Littoral Ship fiasco.
With the amount of corrupt money disappearing, at times it seems everybody has their hand in the til. The numbers are astounding.
Senator Susan Collins of Maine tells about how she gave the Navy $12 billion tax dollars for more submarines. But we got no submarines, and even held a hearing on where the $12 billion went. And they said, “we don’t know.”

Must have went to the 6 and 17 cars. ;)

The unelected administrative state can easily squander $12 billion on consultants and without blinking an eye

I remember a very long time ago there was a Senator William Proxmire, I think from Wisconsin, who used to give out an annual Golden Fleece award for the biggest waste of money the government had that year. I remember one was where the government wanted a motorcycle builder (I forget which one) to build a motorcycle which would go backwards. The builder told them that was stupid and it couldn't be done and the government demanded that it be built. Again, the builder said it wouldn't work but the government demanded they build it. So, they built it and you'll never guess what - it didn't work and the government gave up the project, several billion dollars later.

Indeed... the tradition of awards should continue to expose the wasteful excesses and idiotic spending of gov't
