Hmmm...not really relevant past 1958 or so. When he came back from the service, people had largely forgotten about him.
Just a sad caricature later in life that went through the motions because he was a cash cow.
 
He wasn't a song writer.
the greatest wrote lots of their own music like Chuck Berry who may have started the electric rock guitar led rock music........Elvis was a good looking white kid who could sing....he also had a great backup band led by one of the best early electric rock guitar players in Scotty Moore....
 
He was before my time but I love all his recordings. You are probably a Slim Whitman fan. :)
Try George Strait. Elvis only had 18 number one hits. Far from being the GOAT.

By comparison, George Strait has over 3 times that number and still recording. I'm not saying he is the GOAT either!

It would be very difficult to name a GOAT for music. Elvis is definitely not the GOAT.
