That a photo existst where someone is greeting someone else or supports a waving movement of the hand with the whole arm is not any problem.

The difference is: The Nazi Elon Musk did so intentionally two times within a very short time. It was a clear Nazi salute what he did do. And the Nazi Elon Musk supports in Germany the political party AfD. This political party is clearly in a wide spectrum under influence of far right extremists. Short: Who supports the AfD is either a useful idiot of Nazis or a Nazi on his own who supports Nazis. Because Elon Musk is a relativelly intelligent man who has even enough money to pay political advisers so it is totally clear that he is a Nazi on his own.

It was clearly a Nazi salute what this drug addict did do who has manners like a little child before visiting a kindergarten. But that's nothing new in the new mad world any longer. He misused in this context by the way also a "holy" US-American gesture which is in German called "Hand aufs Herz" (what means something else in our culture). In your culture it is a national gesture of love and respect for a country, specially your own country. So he not only attacked Germany - he also attacked the USA.

German holocaust survivors are at the sharp end of this. They have lived the horror of fascism, Musk comes from a country that practised fascism for a lot longer than Nazi Germany
