Not entirely a History thing, but has enough about the earlier 'Great Awakenings' to be interesting and informative to some. I don't personally agree with his predictions or all his points, but he's always interesting nonetheless.

Evangelism and its churches have a role in reform movements, yes. Fogel, however, is incorrect in believing that they are the key to social justice. In fact, has sprung since the 19th century in large part from the liberalizing influences of traditional mainstream churches and modern secular progressivism.
