This was not a debate on the topic. Baldwin used his time to list a whole bunch of complaints. Hence Buckley answered those complaints brilliantly.
What is noticeable is that Baldwin was less of a man then Buckley, refusing to clap at the end for Buckley's speech. That was an act of a man with of low class.
Buckley pointing out that Negros are becoming doctors and millionaires, proved the American Dream is provided for everyone and that it is the Negro that was failing to take that opportunity.
And how right was Buckley in pointing out that the simply giving the Negro the right to vote was not going to override the vote of 65% of the Southern White Men and Women.
