The Filibuster MUST Go

And REPUBLICANS will get rid of it whenever they deem it is politically expediant...just as they did for SCOTUS appointments

Who do they think they are, Harry Reid?

Do you mean Obama?
Then, Senate Republicans attempted to filibuster multiple Obama nominees to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, his pick for Defense secretary, and his choices to lead the National Labor Relations Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Like Dems did to Bush court nominees.

Yep. That's when it all started going to hell. Bush stopped using the Bar Association to screen qualified candidates. Said they were too liberal. Democrats started filibustering some of them.

During the 2019-2020 Congressional term, a record-breaking 328 filibusters were recorded with Democrats in the minority.
Since 2009, 657 filibusters were recorded under Democratic minorities while 609 filibusters were recorded under Republican minorities.
Why did you lie about this?
Dems have never filibustered a debt ceiling bill

Oh and THREATENED filibusters are as effective as actual ones

Can you really do that with the filibuster?
They can. It's not a law, it's a Senate rule. Setting that precedent, however, would simply result in the GOP doing the same thing for something they really want, and on it goes.

That's where the majority party should insist on a real filibuster. Stand up there and read a book, recite poetry, whatever. Then when you get tired and give up, go ahead and hold the vote.

And it's totally irrelevant what the democrats did or did not filibuster, they've done it and now want to get rid of it because it's being used against them. It's how democrats work, after all.

Democrats have yet to figure out that their changing the rules to suit them alsmost always comes back to bite them.

Republicans are AGAIN playing politics with the debt ceiling.

They've done this before and it cost millions as well as damaged our credit rating
