The media is blaming Trump for his ineptitude in handling this situation. They know the part that China plays and believe that Trump is trying to bury his poor performance by nudging China into conflict. They also know that there may be other ways to deal with a superpower like China. The virus started in China and morphed into what it is today.
Trump originally said that there was only one case from China and that he had it under control. And then he spent 2+
months politicking rather than developing a plan to fight the epidemic as many other countries did.
