To most Americans, the election of Barrack Obama to the President of The United States represented a great hope that finally this country could get past the racial divide that has plagued the country.
With some Democrats, the liberal media, Jimmy Carter and even members of the Democratic House and Senate pulling out and pushing the race card that great hope is diminished!

To Obama's credit, his Press Secretary said,

"The president does not believe that the criticism comes based on the color of his skin," Gibbs said.

That's very likely true given Wilsons history.

But Carter stepped into it because he cannot prove what motivated Wilson.

No, Obama was elected because we needed someone to clean up Bush and Republican messes. He was the most likely candidate. Unfortunately, he still has belief that you can work with (I hope he fails) Republicans. Obviously, he can't. Why? Because they have issues.

I have to credit Jimmy Carter and the Democrats for their "brilliance." The harsh reality is that the American public does not want Obamacare. I believe that a majority of Americans truly want affordable health care, they want something that will enable to deal with catastrophic care, and they want a reasonable form of restitution when victimized by incompetent medical care. None of this means that they want Obamacare. It only means that there are a lot of good, hard-hitting questions being asked, and the Democrats can't answer them. The debate was being conducted and it was making Congress squirm.

Along comes Joe Wilson and his poorly-timed statement, and the Democrats seize the opportunity to divert attention away from the issues by throwing down the race card. Doesn't matter whether or not race has anything to do with it. In fact, they KNOW it doesn't, and they KNOW the American people KNOW it doesn't. But what it DOES is take attention away from the nuts and bolts of the health care debate.

Carter only helps derail the debate a little further, and the White House is only too happy to step in and refute the claim that race had anything to do with it.

While I do not agree with your entire post, I do agree that Joe Wilson may very well be the hero for Democrats who want this legislation passed. Before his moronic outburst, the Democratic party was splintered. Now, thanks to Joe Wilson, the Democrats have found an enemy they can unify against. So, in the end, we can all thank Joe Wilson for helping to get healthcare reform passed. Good show!

....It seems when the going gets tough for liberal Democrats (examples: polls for Obama drop, Democrat Heath care poll drops,), they can't accept the merit of their policy is failing, so it must be race .

The fact that Obama's election could have been a turning point for the country seems to mean very little to them, they have grown too dependent and accustom to the race card..!
