What facts do you believe are being stifled? All the 'save the planet' narrative stifles the facts , the most ominous being nothing is being saved at all.....~S~
What's being saved besides Americans having their standards of living slipping down, Crick? What facts do you believe are being stifled?
The working class American will be forced to mass transit while the wealthy will be relying on EV's that will be much improved over today's.
Charging issues will be solved by new innovations. For one example, fully automated battery swapping depots.
Always keeping in mind that the number of vehicles on the road will be 10% or even less.
Build bullet trains as soon as possible!
Would you like to see the subsidies that the government has paid to oil and coal companies over the last hundred years?
Hahaha hahaha hahaha, it’s obvious you don’t get it!!Let me ask you a simple question: Have these downturns ever happened before with gasoline powered cars?
You say they have? So this is cyclical and actually a common occurrence?
Have gasoline powered cars suffered from slumping sales before? They have?
Did any of these factors cause ICE vehicles to cancel production? Yes, they have, and many plants have closed across this country. That's business. No one is immune.
Elon Musk will continue to keep cutting prices when more choices are made available to consumers. Tesla remains the undisputed leader, for now.
Your entire middle paragraph would apply to a train or a planeA Bullet Train is BS. Each “stop” will take time, unload, load, get going. They are not going 200mph thru poulated areas (safety).
to ride the silly thing you gotta get to the station, find parking, pay to park, unload, walk over or wait on a shuttle. Any drive anywhere in CA to any station is 30 min minimum, more often 55-75min. No on can afford to live in a decent area near SJ CA for instance, where a station would be. Repeat it all on the other end.
bottom line: to go 400 miles (door to door) will take more time than flying You can almost drive in the same time overall.

Not so much a disaster now
745 mile range, charges in 10 minutes. Toyota
Toyota claims battery breakthrough in potential boost for electric cars
Japanese firm believes it could make a solid-state battery with a range of 745 miles that charges in 10 minuteswww.theguardian.com
Boy, you swallowed hook line and sinkerCuba's healthcare is rated roughly equal to America's but the factors that make it worse and make it better are different. For example, America's lack of providing affordable health care for all is the major factor that brings it down.
Canada's of course has always been rated as better than America's.
Take away the subsidies and let's see if EVs can compete with CEs on an even playing field, they we'll really see if EV's have any place in the market. The fact remains that EVs are not a complete answer.
Low mileage commuters?
Now we're making some progress.
Do you have a gasoline refinery on your property? Borrow their electricity.Great when? 5 yrs? How much? $124K?
That will be good if you have a house with a plug.

The root problem isn't so much the mode of transportation...though I agree with your analysis.Take away the subsidies and let's see if EVs can compete with CEs on an even playing field, they we'll really see if EV's have any place in the market.
I'll take you up on that. Landlords are forced by competition to constantly improve their properties, particularly when rents are going up. Their customers will demand them.I will guarantee APT building in NYC or even SJ CA are not going to put in chargers for renters. Not for decades if ever. Gas stations already exist.
Most of the rapid chargers are 50A...600V....0 math there Crick
It takes XXX energy to mobilize anything electrical
it takes XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX energy to do so en masse
But i'll dumb this down for you
let's pick a # , say 50A
50A is what it takes, especially for any 'quick' charge resulting in any substaintial mobility
How's about you add that to 1/2 your neighbors in your hood?
Now your POCO has some serious 'math' to do
~S~
Most of the rapid chargers are 50A...600V....
They beat up the batteries
