Absolutely no way we should get rid of the electoral college. The EC is the best way to ensure the majority doesn't rule. It gives the minority population a say in government. It's why states all have 2 Senators as well as Representatives based on population. If we went merely with population then California, Illinois, New York and Texas would decide the election every year. Candidates would stop campaigning in places like New Hampshire, Iowa and West Virginia. Of course no one likes the EC when they lose. But if you truly understood why we have it you would not vote against it, unless you want a tyranny.
