Minority families, in particular, were worse off in 2013 than they were in 2010. While median incomes of non-Hispanic white families fell by 1 percent, their median net worth rose by 2 percent. Minority families experienced a double whammy—their median income dropped by 9 percent, and their median net worth fell by 17 percent, as the chart below shows.

A rising economic tide does not lift all boats. It lifts all boats prepared to take advantage of the rising tide. Poor families are not prepared to invest in a stock market that was doubling. Rising employment was not followed by rising wages. Deserted cities remained deserted cities

It should be noted that the recovery has not reached much of our middle class - regardless of race - either.

Yep. Minorities not helped and middle class not helped by Obama either. That Keynesian stuff doesn't work.

Wealth is created in the marketplace, most government policies which can help minorities kick in AFTER the fact. The problems facing minorities cannot be fixed with government policies, they have to be addressed in the labor market itself. Even if we can find a way of increasing the bargaining power of labor, minorities still face a labor market which is commoditizing low skill labor and liberalizing on how it rewards cognitive talent. Those with high demand cognitive skills are doing very well, while those with easily replaceable cognitive and physical skills are treading water and those with no skills are not doing well at all.

but keep in mind if we shipped 20 million illegals home tomorrow all Americans could find jobs and there would be upward pressure on wages too. Then, if we eliminated the corporate tax another 20 million jobs would come home. Liberals oppose both moves that would cause an instant economic boom.

Liberals have destroyed the middle and lower class but refuse to to change their ways. Its the greatest irony in American History that the middle and lower class continue to vote liberal because liberals say they care but then act to destroy their own constitutuents who lack the IQ to understand what has happened to them.

Why do you find this idea so incredible? Eisenhower deported 1 million in 1 year using only a few hundred agents. That happened in an era without massive databases.

Every kid in school can be tracked back to a family residence. Every worker should be registered with some employment database.

This leaves people who are off the grid, working for cash. They can be tracked down through other methods. Drivers licenses, utility bills, rental agreements.

The resulting labor scarcity will both lower unemployment and drive up wages, thus closing the income inequality gap and lowering social welfare spending.

Well of course. Anything good, is automagically due to Obama. Everything bad is automagically due to 'evil corporations'.

I actually expected this for two reasons.

1. We raised the minimum wage. Cutting off the lowest rung of the economic ladder. 75% of all McDonald's Franchise owners started off as minimum wage hour crew members.

It's hard to end up at the top, when you can't even get on the first rung. Imagine if all those McDonald's owners had been replaced with Kiosks? Would they still have ended up owning their own store? Likely not.

Before I get to 2, understand when they say minorities, they don't actually mean minorities, because Asians and Jews, and Indians, routinely out perform white Americans, in America. What they really mean is blacks.

2. Many of the poor and black in our country, thought Obama was going to take care of them. They believe that Government was going to fix their lives.

Well of course, if you think it's someone else who is going to fix your life, why would you put in the effort to fix it yourself?

And, thus they remain poor.

Until the poor and black in our country, realize that the only one that is going to fix their lives, is themselves, they will always remain poor and impoverished.
