If you have never seen "Keep Sweet and Obey" - it is the inside story to Warren Jeffs, leader of the massive FLDS church cult. He is serving two consecutive life sentences for child trafficking. The single harshest prison sentence given to a sex offender in history. For good Reason.

After that happened. Unbelievably, remarkably a 2nd man basically took over Jeff's church. Sort of. He began doing the same things Jeffs did.

Both are a study and testimony how easy it is to brainwash people into doing anything. Including accepting sending your own 9 year old daughter to be passed around for sex to church leaders.

-- AND -- The unbelievable blasé' attitude law enforcement excused and ignored a growing organization of child trafficking.

I just started watching Trust Me: The False Prophet last night. I'm three episodes in. One more to go as law enforcement moves in.

My youngest daughter loves true crime podcasts and I have texted her to watch this documentary and that it will freak her right the **** out.

The thing is, as a cult leader this guy isn't even very good at it!! He's about as charismatic as a turnip, his feats of physical agility are hilarious, and he even allows a film crew to document his crimes! Yet he is able to lure in more than a score of victims.

Even so, law enforcement is unbelievably slow to act. That's a crime in itself.

I haven't been able to find out if the local cop was dirty. I mean, like the FBI said - "I don't see how anyone didn't see this as enough evidence".
He belongs in jail. He absolutely impeded an investigation by refusing to do his ******* job.
Mass psychology is one of my interests. The Warren Jeffs saga is the most mind blowing occurrence in cult history. Bigger than Jim Jones. In a psychological way.
Jeffs built a giant alter to have sex with girls as young as 10 - with church members singing praises while watching him do it!!! The biggest psychological WTF I have ever seen. It was not uncommon for the PARENTS of those young girls to be among the spectators.

And now - just a few years later someone else managed to restart it all back?? No one was watching these people?? Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

Episode 3 ended with a surprise - the last 30 seconds of that episode ended with a "normal" looking Naomi sitting down to be interviewed.
I am looking forward to hearing her. She is a story all on her own. Raised from birth with the only existence was to become an absolutist obeying wife, no hesitation - no questioning. No matter how extreme he is.
She was clearly the most devoted to Sam, how did she ever get to sitting down wearing regular clothes and makeup???

And BTW - for people reading this - the FLDS cult story makes Epstein look like the man of the year. In Epstein's entirety of abuse - he doesn't even begin to touch the surface to the depths of child trafficking and child sex of the massive FLDS cult.

That still exists today BTW.

Wow - finished the last episode.
You cannot watch this and not feel pretty pissed off.
The entire state of Utah needs some overhauling and possible federal intervention.
The local police were simply refusing to do their jobs.
The worst was a judge and the child protection agency directly interfering and even sabotaging the FBI investigation. And then - no doubt in my mind they helped the minor girls escape. How the hell could they have escaped without inside help? It was all planned.
It is good that the 4 men involved all are serving serious time in prison, as well as a few of the adult wives. But this is not over. The FLDS cult is still very much alive, and local police and politicians are very clearly protecting them so they can keep right on sex trading girls.
