At one point in his attempt to weaponize the DoJ Individual 1 asked both acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and acting deputy attorney general Richard Donoghue to say the election was corrupt.
Former President Donald Trump pressured acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen to declare that the election was corrupt in an attempt to help Republican members of Congress try to overturn the election result, according to notes of a December 2020 call Trump held with Rosen and acting deputy attorney general Richard Donoghue.
During the December 27, 2020, call, Trump pressured Rosen and Donoghue to falsely declare the election “illegal” and “corrupt” even after the Justice Department had not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud.
“Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen,” Trump said on the call, according to Donoghue’s notes.

Trump Wanted Zelensky to Publicly Announce He Was Investigating Biden
President Donald Trump wanted his Ukrainian counterpart to declare publicly that he was embarking on an investigation into Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine.
That’s according to William Taylor, America’s top diplomat to Ukraine, who also told Congress on Tuesday that Ukraine’s president agreed to make the announcement on CNN.
Taylor, according to a copy of his opening statement obtained by The Daily Beast, said that Trump told Gordon Sondland, his ambassador to the European Union, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had to “clear things up and do it in public” as Ukraine waited for the U.S. to release a shipment of military aid.

In both instances the ask was not for actual evidence of a corrupted election or corrupt behavior. Just a vague public announcement suggesting corruption might exist. So why did Don feel the mere suggestion of corruption was enough?
Because as far as The Following goes, it is. If we have learned anything through the last few years of, to date, completely unsubstantiated allegations made against Biden the elder, it's that the facts don't matter........insinuation is enough to get the Repub base to buy in. Their beliefs reinforced by a right wing media cohort ready, willing, and able to reliably disinform its audience for Trump's benefit.
