Donald Trump on health care reform:

What we need -- look, the insurance companies take care of the politicians. The insurance companies get what they want. We should have gotten rid of the lines around each state so we can have real competition.
We thought that was gone, we thought those lines were going to be gone, so something happened at the last moment where Obamacare got approved, and all of that was thrown out the window.

The reason is some of the people in the audience are insurance people, and insurance lobbyists, and special interests. They got -- I'm not going to point to these gentlemen, of course, they're part of the problem, other than Ben, in all fairness.

But, we should have gotten rid of the borders, we should have gotten rid of the lines around the state so there's great competition. The insurance companies are making a fortune on every single thing they do.

I'm self-funding my campaign. I'm the only one in either party self-funding my campaign. I'm going to do what's right. We have to get rid of the lines around the states so that there's serious, serious competition.

John Kasich on health care reform:

You don't want any American to lose their house, everything they've saved, because they get sick. Now, I think it is more complicated than what we've heard here tonight. We're actually running significant health reform in my state.

I would repeal Obamacare for a variety of reasons. I would take some of the federal resources, combine it with the freed-up Medicaid program, which I would send back to the states, and cover the people who are currently the working poor because we don't want to have tens of millions of Americans losing their health insurance.

And then we're driving towards total transparency. If any of you here ever get a hospital bill, it's easier to interpret the Dead Sea scrolls than to understand your hospital bill. The fact is what we need is transparency with hospitals and with the providers.

And I'll tell you what we will do. We are actually going to make payments to physicians and to hospitals who actually deliver healthcare with great quality at low prices. We actually are going to make the market work.

I'm telling you that we are going to -- we have a proposal, a plan that we're enacting now that says if you are a hospital or a doctor and you're providing very high quality at lower prices, below the midpoint -- some charge high, some charge low. If you are below the midpoint, we are going to give you a financial reward for allowing you to provide services that result in high quality for our people at lower pricess.

That is the way in which we are going to damp down the rising costs of healthcare. Because if you think about your own deductibles today, they're going higher, higher and higher. And you know what? At some point, people can't afford it. Our plan will work. It uses the market. It uses transparency. It gets the patient in the middle. And guess what? We're actually doing it in my state, the seventh-largest state in the country. And if this will go -- this will go national, we will get our hands on healthcare where you will know what's going on. We will pay for quality, lower prices, and we will begin to see healthcare become affordable in America and where people will also be able to have health insurance, even if they have a preexisting condition.

We don't want to throw millions of people out into the cold and not have the health insurance, Dana. So that's really what we're doing. This is not a theory. This is what we are actually doing in our state. We will begin payments next year based on episodes that we have in our lives. If our primary care physicians keep us healthy for a year, with really high quality, guess what? They will get a financial reward.

Our primary care physicians need help. They need support. We're losing them. This will allow them to get a reward for doing a great job.

Now which one of those sounds like someone who knows what the fuck he is talking about?

Trump was fed a line about "lines around the states" by one of his trainers in the past week or so.

"We should have gotten rid of the lines around the state so there's great competition."

He sounds like a poorly trained monkey!

When Kasich speaks, you can actually hear the glaze setting in on the eyes and brains of the rubes who came to watch a WWF match.

Sad. Really, really sad.

Trump's actual answer to health care: "We'll come up with new plans." He actually said that, and Rubio rightfully kicked him in the nuts. "What is your plan? What is your plan?"

The man has absolutely no idea what he will do. None. All he had was the bit about "lines" and "it will be a beautiful thing".

He's clueless.

Donnie's "believe me" policy has worn thin with everyone except his staunch supporters.

I wrote it before and will write it again and Donald Trump is a shock jock politician that gives sound bites as ideas, and his loyal followers are supporting him to punish the nation for the last two elections that gave us President Obama...

If those that support Trump wanted a true Conservative then they should have supported Rand Paul or at least Ted Cruz, but that is not the case.

Trump idea of fixing things is nothing new, and if Trump had any balls he would reach in the past and offer the Nixon Healthcare bill as a replacement for the ACA.

It would make the employer pay a good amount of the healthcare cost and would not allow them to part-time their employee's to get around having to offer insurance. Those that are not covered would fall onto the government plan.

The reality is he will not offer this because it would be the nail in the coffin for his chances to win the nomination.

Republicans like Roosevelt and Nixon were for fixing the Healthcare system in this country and it was Democrats back in their day that were not willing to do it, but times have changed.

I disagree with the ACA on the main part it hurt the average American and allow companies to part-time their workforce. it should be the employer that provide the insurance for their employee and the employee should not be worried if their hours will be cut.

Now someone if not most on this site will tell me it is not the government job to set these rules for companies, and I will say that Nixon was correct even though he was a insane bastard but still correct on the fact this nation needed Universal Healthcare, and it is too bad him and Kennedy did not get what they really wanted done when Nixon was in office...

The Nixon-Kennedy Health Care Plan

Trump is a joke and Kasich is the best candidate left standing but the GOP supporters are too ignorant or just full of hate and anger to see or understand this and prefer someone like Trump or Cruz that tell them what they want to read and hear but in the end Trump will never deliver what he is promising, well is he really promising anything except deportation and cussing out world leaders?

An employer should have NOTHING to do with your healthcare. You are a hostage in that situation. It's take-it-or-leave-it bullshit. You have no options. You have to take the one insurance company plan offered, or have none at all. And if you work for a small business, your company has zero leverage with the insurance company. If one employee in a small business runs up massive insurance bills, everyone in the company sees a giant spike in their premiums.

Your employer should be responsible for paying you cash, and then it is left to you how you spend it. Period. If your employer wants to offer other bennies, that should be the employer's prerogative, not the government's.

Employer-sponsored health insurance is one of the single biggest causes of rising health care costs. It needs to go away.

Trump's bit about "lines" is correct, but he clearly never thought of it until one of his trainers fed it to him and practiced it with him.

I have been saying from the get-go you should be buying your health insurance the same way you buy all your other insurance. You pick up the phone and call any insurance company in the United States that you wish. THAT is what gives you real leverage, just like it does with auto, home, and life insurance. YOU have the upper hand.

You pick the options you want with the money you have. THAT is how it should work.

True but the Media is also complicit in this. Notice how Rump gets center stage, as if he needs the exposure, and the three most animated speakers get bunched together 2-3-4 so that they make a nice camera frame. You could have tuned in to the debate any number of points and inferred there were only three candidates. If CNN had an honest bone left in its corporate body it would have put the louder candidates on the fringes and a Carson/Kasich front and center.

Then again, the whole scene was a mockery -- they opened up with a roaring raucous crowd that far more resembled a game show than a political debate. Even brought the game show sound effects.

The circus some politicians have done to the concept of political discourse is pathetic, but the hyper porn orgy mass media has made it into is even worse.

Yeah, that game show ding-ding-ding is a dead giveaway our political process has become a game. And like all reality TV shows, it has no actual connection to reality.

Clinton talks up ObamaCare. She has been painting it as, "We finally have a path to universal health care."

For the Democrats, ObamaCare is an intermediate step toward UHC.

Just as it is for Donald Trump.

Trump has advocated for UHC. And you know he still supports it, because he never fails to trash private health insurance companies every time the subject of health care comes up.

That's the dead giveaway.

So who are you voting for? the 75 year old communist or the 70 year old murderer? Talk about clueless.....

And make no mistake about it - I can't stand Trump - but I'd rather go with him than either of YOUR choices.

Oh, look! This is the best example of a Fallacy of the Excluded Middle I have seen in a while. I see them all the time on here, but this is textbook! Well done!

I'm supporting John Kasich, retard. The only genuine Reagan Republican in the race.

These idiots think if you are trashing ANY of the Republican candidates, it must mean you are for Clinton or Sanders.

It just doesn't get more retarded than that.

I have bad news for you, dipshit. There is no daylight between Trump and Clinton. So if I don't support Trump, why the fuck would I support Clinton?

Relax fella - I hit the button too early. I'm 72. I make typing errors. You?

I know that. I've said it often that he is not batshit crazy enough for you retards.

Unlike you, though, I stand by my principles and don't vote for the rabid dogs just because they are more popular.
