Because all 50 states have their own state constitutions - each applying to that state only. If a state dictates your “natural right”, then any state could strip you of your “natural rights”.

Um...how does that help? According to your own doctrine for interpreting the U.S. Constitution, all the 1st Amendment does is forbid Congress from legislating. Forbidding Congress from legislating doesn’t help keep us a superpower.

That is directly from the 1st Amendment. It is crystal clear and indisputable. You cannot ignore or disregard the first clause of the 1st Amendment.

It is equally important to remember that the US Constitution also trumps any and all federal laws as well.

Inherent individual or natural rights do not come from either state nor federal law, but precede both, and are the reason why we can even form governments at all.
The ONLY source of any legal authority in a democratic republic comes from the inherent rights of individuals.
And all governments are only valid in so far at they support and defend those inherent rights of individuals.
