DOGE Is Now Investigating How So Many Congressmen Become "Strangely Wealthy"

He used to be a dimocrap.

Then he grew up. Same with Trump. Same with a lot of people including moi.

When will you grow up? :dunno:

It helps to be open-minded but not so open minded that your brain falls out

You're much more trusting of politicians and government than I am.

So I think it's other way around...what is childish is to still have trust in politics and to still think that there's a "hero" who's coming to save the day. The only savior is Jesus. Period, end of story.

It’s two years ago stupid

2018-2019? Dumbfuck. 6-7 years dumbfuck. Read your own stupid fucking links before you post them and have them used against you.

As of 2019 and 2018, the top 50 wealthiest members of the United States Congress were as follows:

*based on 2018 information

I would be VERY interested to have updated information, even as of this date, but a 7 year old chart is worthless.

Hey moron. I clicked on the first 25 names. Each and every one of them

Guess what? All but one said “IS” not “was”.

It took me all of a minute.

Here’s an idea. You try that next time so you don’t make such a fool of yourself

Dumbfuck, your stupid link says its based on 2018 information. That's SEVEN fucking years old. Their net worth can change DRAMATICALLY in seven years, especially with 4 of them being Biden years. Those are all pre covid numbers.

And number 1 and number 2 on YOUR list describe them as BUSINESSMEN. That would mean they will have a high net worth. So this chart is outdated AND worthless. Trump is the richest president to ever serve, yet has not taken a dollar as president and was worth far more the day he took office in 2017 than he is now.

Again you stupid moron.

All but one of those wealthiest 25 Congressmen and Senators are still serving

You made a fool of yourself

Good, AND THE TOP TEN ARE BUSINESSMEN. The question was HOW DO SO MANY CONGRESSMEN BECOME STRANGELY WEALTHY. If you own a business, or operate one, then it's not strange how you became wealthy. But number 11, Nancy Pelosi, WAS NEVER a businesswoman and yet has so much money. People ask WHY. Successful Republicans running for congress is not a questionable behavior. But entering congress with very low net worth and leaving worth 115 million on congressional salary in a very high COL area, RAISES A HELL OF A LOT OF QUESTIONS.

Learn to read dumbfuck.

I think it was clear from the start that DOGE wasn't about efficiency, and was instead a fraud witch hunt.

The Washington Establishment has been stealing BILLIONS from us while we do without and this useful idiot is against stopping the theft.

Again you dishonest fuck… she was married to a very rich lawyer and businessman.

And that still leaves 16 of the top 24 richest Congressmen being Republican

You failed miserably

If someone is rich and they get elected to political office, that's one thing and easily explanable.

But if someone is basically a common schlub like Lifeguard Biden or Bar Maid Cortez and being tremendously wealthy, that another story altogether.

Some have reasonable explanation, John Kerry is a gigolo who married a rich broad.

Ditto with John McCain.

But the real concern is suspected graft.

I stole this directly from Ace of Spades HQ. Good site. Worth visiting.

But he found this and I thought it might make a good topic for conversation. Because, we all wonder how Politicians can get so stinking RICH making what is, in DC, a very modest Income..... In a very high Cost-Of-Living area. At least, I do.

I mean, we all know how they do it but we aren't exactly sure of the mechanisms they use.

This is why dems HATE Musk and HATE, HATE, HATE Trump. Because they're trying to stop the grift. To be clear, it isn't JUST dems that are knee-deep in the grift, it's just -- Mostly. Some Republicans are as dirty as it gets. (there's a stink about SCOTUS about to hit -- 'nother thread for another time)

Musk certainly doesn't need any money from DC. In fact, when they offer it to him (Rockets, AI, etc) he refuses it. Trump doesn't need the money. He is also a billionaire that isn't dependent on crooking bucks from The People.

So.......

He says that the US government gives billions to NGOs, who then transfer it to other NGOs, who then transfer it to other NGOs -- you know, like a criminal mafia organization laundering money through shell companies -- before that money is ultimately paid into the accounts of congressmen.

The world's richest man is dying to figure out how lawmakers on Capitol Hill got "strangely wealthy" despite their comparatively modest public salaries.
Speaking at a town hall in Wisconsin Sunday night, Elon Musk suggested that his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will investigate how certain members of Congress have achieved generational wealth.

One attendee at the town hall had asked Musk if DOGE had uncovered evidence of funds wired from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

"They'll [the government] send the money overseas to one NGO [non-governmental organization], then they'll go through a bunch of them, and then I'm highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned," Musk replied.

"But it is a circuitous route. It doesn't go directly, but let's just say that there's a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress where I'm trying to connect the dots of, 'How do they become rich?'"

...

Rank-and-file members of Congress make $174,000 annually. Last year, Musk -- whose net worth is pegged at $330 billion by Bloomberg -- helped kill legislation to raise congressional pay, then later supported an increase as a means of fighting corruption.

Scores of lawmakers who have spent decades in Congress are millionaires.

Two of the wealthiest include former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has a net worth of about $250 million, and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), whose personal fortune hovers around $552 million.

Pelosi's wealth largely comes from her and her venture capitalist husband Paul's lucrative investments in companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Netflix.

Scott's personal fortunes largely stem from his work co-founding HCA Healthcare, a company that runs hospitals and other medical facilities around Florida, and Solantic, an urgent-care clinic chain. His work on both of those companies predates his time in the Senate.

"How do they get $20 million if they're earning $200,000 a year?" Musk further pondered. "We're going to try to figure it out and certainly stop it from happening"

Bribes.
When the lights go out, make sure they are reimagined.
...along with IM2 and the rest of the commie filth here.

That's a story from over 2 years ago, and is from "Celebrity Net Worth".

Hardly a current, or authoritative estimate.

Ok. I take it back. You're not just "playing" stupid.

You're the one that can't explain why you have the position you do. Explain the process that you obviously see that is enabling DOGE to purge political opposition? Or will, since it hasn't happened yet. I want to understand how you see that playing out. If you can't explain that, then you're simply full of shit. :dunno:
