That's true, but most of the threats I read here do involve violence, and so I'm wondering if the civil war I keep hearing about would be something like the original.

Maybe a group of antifa losers attacking somebody on the right, and the victim using is firearm to kill all of them. That wouldn't start a war, but the victim not being arrested or charged would.

Let's face it, when it comes to political violence, the left is mostly responsible. They are almost always the attackers or promoters, even right down to their congressional leadership.

I guarantee you that if the Proud Boys and others join forces and start whipping Antifa, then the Mayor of Portland will tell the cops to intervene.

Leftist problem makers don't go to many places where the police can't protect them. That's why they avoid states with very liberal gun laws.

Our city hosted the RNC. We had all kinds of threats from people claiming they were on their way here to disrupt the convention and create chaos in our city over Trump. We were so prepared they erected an outdoor jail to hold all the criminals until the paddy wagon picked them up.

It might have turned out that way, but the bikers for Trump decided to attend too, and they're not scared of the cops either. All in all, we only had one arrest, and it was for disorderly conduct or something stupid.

Given all the attacks by the left, it's not a matter of daydreaming, it's a matter of odds, just like playing Russian Roulette. You may get away with it once or twice, perhaps a dozen times, or even a hundred. But that one time when you mess with that wrong person and he explodes, watch out brother. If we are going to have a war, that's what will start it.

What's sad about Oregon and Washington is that the major population centers of Portland and Seattle/Tacoma run the entire states. Once you get out of the metro areas, the people are relatively normal.

Anyway, it may be my imagination, but it seems like the frequency of veiled and unveiled threats of a coming Civil War are increasing, so I'd like to see if we can specific. Enough generalities, let's set serious.

What would a post-Civil War America actually LOOK like?

Based on what I've read, I can think of only three goals the Civil Warsters (?) might have:

1. Enough dead Democrats so that Republicans would win all the elections and we'd have one-party rule

2. People are living in such fear of the "patriots" with the guns that they vote Republican to save their ******* lives

3. Giving the "patriots" some land so that they can be patriots there. Give it a name like, uh, TRUMP.

If we go with #3, some decisions would need to be made. Obviously the West Coast would not work, nor the Northeast. Plus, it would be better if we kept the new countries contiguous for logistical reasons. Looking at the map below, maybe the "patriots" would like something like Texas (obviously you'd have to get rid of a shitload of brown people), Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky, something like that. I'd personally be willing to throw in Utah, but Arizona and New Mexico would be problematic.

Anyway -- thoughts?

Modern democrat Socialism is completely incompatible with American laws, values and culture, no matter how much Soros spends to rig elections.

We relocate Antifa and the Soros Socialists to CA, build Our Wall around it and deed it back to Mexico

For the record, no one wants a second civil war or perhaps more specifically, few possess enough understanding of what a modern civil would involve or be like beyond their armchair games of Risk, 2019 America Style to accurately or honestly answer the question. However, in order to understand the aftermath of a such a conflict, one must first examine and comprehend America pre-second internal war.

We must get a handle on who exactly is currently attempting to divide our great nation, why they're doing it, and understand the difference between direct political acts of sedition or defiance and the clashing of differing ideologies. Most everyone debating or gaming current U.S. politics divides our civilization by political party, Democrats on the Left, Republicans on the Right, but that doesn't feel accurate enough a demarcated split for the purposes of examining the outbreak of another civil war. Seems the true political divide in today's America is a stark line, a no-man's land running between patriotic, America loving citizens--a group including both Republicans and some Democrats with Independent and Third Party stragglers in tow--and the postmodernist radical or extreme Left.

Acts of sedition or more accurately, division, are those I would describe as being carried by the mayors of sanctuary cities and the governors of sanctuary states, politicians who have defied federal law in the service of radical, un-American ideology. Those acts carried out over the past decade and more are many, can be discovered independently online and thus I will not go into them here. I'd also include in this sphere decisions handed down by far-Left leaning activist judges, local school boards, college administrators and Democrat Candidates whose platforms are laced with radical ideological motivations. Finally, we must also add in any entity government or corporate whose policies have sought to limit or suppress our constitutional rights.

So now that we have our two sides identified in any potential coming neo-civil war: those on the far Left who have either used their political or private offices to defy U.S. Constitutional Law vs. every other American who wants to preserve our Union geographically and politically, we can begin to game the conflict; both how it could begin and any potential aftermath.

For my money what I predict leading to a second civil war is a twofold or two phase scenario. Phase one: governors of states such as California, Washington and New York declare independence from the U.S. of A. on the grounds the federal government is oppressing tyrannically millions of undocumented immigrants living in and flooding those states, and is infringing on the rights of women to get any-time abortions and the LGTBQ people to spread their perversions. Something like that. And let's not forget a call to action over global warming, either. In order to secure their new Sanctuary Nation the governors of these secessionist states will attempt to one, call up their National Guard forces and fail because too many Guardsmen will defect, taking their oath to protect the Constitution very seriously, and two, attempt to seize active duty military installations in their states in order raise their own armies. They'll fail at this also for many reasons but primarily because installation, Corps and Division commanders answer to the Commander-in-Chief in D.C. Perhaps a few will go over to the "dark" side, who knows?

The secessionists' next step will be to raise an army from undocumented immigrants . . . sort of a make-due shabby but moderately effective infantry which they'll arm from NG and police armories and department stores and firearm factories. They'll then use this new secessionist army to set up interstate and inner city checkpoints in preparation for retaliation from D.C. But the White House will not respond militarily, in fact the President will spend up to a month or more weighing his legal options and securing domestic intelligence, nuclear and other key regular military assets. During this period, groups such as Antifa will carry out acts of sabotage against our national infrastructure, possibly aided by the Chinese, and will assassinate or attempt to assassinate many members of Congress.

The President, after much consideration, will allow the "rebel" governors to secede thinking they will come back to the table in a few months begging for D.C.'s help after their new sovereign economies fail spectacularly. The successful secession of these states will lead to more states seceding, such as Illinois and a few New England states. But, the seceded states will not come begging the White House to rejoin the U.S. because China, Mexico and very possibly the E.U. will offer the secessionists the economic aid they need in exchange for allowing their troops to occupy their territories which were recently U.S. soil. Essentially, what we'll have then is a United States of about forty-one or so states with several geographic pockets of a new nation formed by the secessionists and occupied by foreign and hostile military forces.

Negotiations will then begin to prevent China and the E.U. from parking nuclear weapons on what used to be U.S. domestic soil in California, New York, etc. Meanwhile, phase two of the neo-civil war will kick-off. The new leaders of seceded America (Sanctuary America) will, in conjunction with heads of universities and school boards across the US, call for college and high school kids to rise up and march against anyone and everyone who is not a far-Left postmodernist. In effect, and army of young students will rise up and trash schools, universities, businesses in cities and towns across the country and attempt to seize the Capital Building and other federal infrastructure. This will be coordinated with further key strategic political assassinations and false-flag terror events.

The White House will then have two choices; either use active duty military forces to restore order nationwide, which would entail killing and wounding perhaps millions of young American Students, or let the mass cultural riots play out, hoping they will eventually die down and go away. The problem with either reaction from the President? If He does nothing, then the rioting mass of students could very well tear our nation apart or end up containing the special ops units of hostile foreign nations such as China who succeed in essentially destroying our infrastructure. If the President uses the active duty army against the rioting students, He will risk other states seceding from the Union over outrage at the violence which could lead to destabilizing the rest of the nation. The Aftermath either way? You decide.

Of course, I am likely wrong about the whole thing . . .

That's very true, and pretty freakin' profound in its simplicity.

Certainly, a President who had the balls to ignore party lines for the good of the country would meet with a hurricane of opposition from their own fucked up party, but that certainly would be interesting to watch.
