The cognitive dissonance of the public's opinion towards Dem's.

All the polls I referenced are skewed because of bias? This kind of denial of reality is what makes having a grown up conversation with you folks so difficult.
If you don't beleive that the polls are deliberatly misleading, there is nothing I can do to help you with your delusions.

You voiced an opinion and then hunted out left wing sources that agreed with your bias.

You use vague terminology like, "Most". What is most? I've seen plenty of information in which a significant number of the population agrees that there should be some restricdtions on abortion and that each state should be permitted to set its own level of morality regarding the issue. To claim Republicans would want a total ban on abortion is projection and not reality.

A majority of Americans are bombarded with propagandized information and significant disinformation regarding climate change that you cannot a statement as to what Americans beleive.

There are NO majorities that back stricter gun laws. Again, the American people have been mislead regarding gun laws and gun regulations and outright lied to about their 2nd Amendment rights.

The cognitive dissonance is with the left. The polls show it, and the disarray and leaderless condition of the Democrat party are proof of that.
The inability of democrats to see how bad they failed just makes everything worse for them

The various issues are not equal in priority. One single, individual priority dwarfs the rest, so much so that America will forgive and spin for blatant lies, insults, the loss of our global friends and allies, the Insurrection, non-stop juvenile behavior, the tariff/economic madness, the Epstein ties, the phony religion, all of it. ALL OF IT.

And we're seeing the same thing play out throughout Europe: THE priority is immigration. White Replacement. And 100% of the blame is going to the Dems. Every ounce.

I surely didn't realize how intense this was. I sure do now. These last ten years have been a real learning experience about America.

Then the recent negatives associated with the Democrat party....
Sexualizing children
Hmmmm. Is the Dem party doing that? Or is it a small minority of the party. Would it be fair to say the Repub party is doing damage to vulnerable children for political purposes?

Why wouldn't it? After all, Biden had open borders. ;) ;) ;) :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: ;) ;) ;)

No party harms children more than democrats
The open border supported child slave labor and sexual abuse of children
Gender absurdity harms children
The welfare state destroyed the family
Public schools are replacing parental rights
Democrats must hate children

That's one issue associated with Democrats and despite the Democrats repeated attempts at labeling the Republicans as culpable....the public school system is usually aligned with Democrats and that is where the transvestites are gaining access to children.
Republicans favor vouchers and school choice. So that a parent can send their child to a school of their choice....where DEI is not taught.

Do you doubt that if Repubs had their way it wouldn't be?

But that isn't the issue nor what the thread is about. DO YOU FOLKS EVER JUST RESPOND TO THE SUBJECT OF THREADS???? Does it always have to go down the road of deflection?
Your first link in the OP was about abortion, you blithering nitwit.

Status of Abortion Bans in the United States as of June 2, 2025

Abortion Banned (12 states)

Gestational limit between 6 and 12 weeks LMP (6 states)

Gestational limit between 18 and 22 weeks LMP (4 states)

Gestational limit at or near viability (19 states)

No gestational limits (9 states & DC)

The point is not where abortion is legal but rather that the Dem party holds a position on the issue that is popular with a majority of Americans.
None of those is a ban, stupid.

Gender absurdity harms children

Democrats must hate children
Biden lost 300,000 children.

This follows a pattern of steadfastly refusing to accept anything challenging your preconceived notions.

By virtue of right wing media's successful efforts in that regard.
You can blame media on this all you desire....
However it doesn't address the core issue of only screetching and not creating a vision and dream.

Like the polls that showed Harris was popular. Polls are just another way to manipulate people

15th post
No doubt Biden got falsely blamed for inflation since he was in the chair when it hit.
Issues surrounding COVID got studiply politicized on both sides. The idea of vaccine mandates, which are required of school children to attend public schools, being a denial of liberty is ludicrous.

But this discussion is about policy positions the majority of Americans hold that align with Democrats which most conservative board members seem to be in denial about.
You guys said over and over, you had all the answers before he was installed. And then your agendas took over.

Sure. Heck, we wouldn't need Medicaid at all if everyone was well. Your reply reminds me of the meme from the ACA debate days. "The Repub healthcare plan, don't get sick."
The proposed cuts in Medicaid would come largely from renegotiating drug prices. Medicaid is getting gouged badly on this.

"Don't get sick" is the plan I use. Works great.

Quite a bit has been made by the board's conservatives about the Dem party's dismal polling numbers of late. They are frequently cited in response to it being pointed out trump's approval rating has sunken to new lows.
Why do I refer to this phenomenon as creating cognitive dissonance? Here's why.

Most U.S. adults think abortion should be legal 3 years after Roe was overturned, poll shows

A Majority of Americans See Climate Change as a Serious Problem Today

Majorities Still Back Stricter Gun Laws, Assault Weapons Ban

More Americans favor pathway to legal status for most migrants in US

Medicaid keeps getting more popular as Republicans aim to cut it by $800 billion

Weird, right? The Dem party is not popular but the policy positions it stands for are.
So I'm going to posit a theory to explain it. Basically, it comes down to this.

Democrats fume over weak early response to Trump

Democrats are fuming about their party leadership’s early response to President Trump.

Strategists say the reaction to Trump is inconsistent and not aggressive enough to combat Trump, who has taken a series of actions to remake the government.

More specifically, I think one aspect of the poor polling Dem's get is out of frustration with the party's inability to get legislation passed that the majority favors. Roe was just repealed, gun control legislation has repeatedly been blocked by Repubs, trump is in the process of reversing Biden's laudable efforts with respect to climate change, Medicaid funding has been slashed.

It's hard to be enthusiastic about an ineffectual party that can't deliver on what the majority wants.

Thoughts?
Too bad none of those is a top line issue.

1. The places where the majority of people believe that abortion should be legal, it is. The overturning of Roe v Wade didnt make abortion illegal.

2. This isnt an issue people vote on. It just isnt. It doesn't help that the climate fanatics have been so spectacularly wrong on so many of their most well-known predictions.

3. Yes big scary gun bad. Remind me the percentage of gun crimes that are committed with legally owned "assault rifles". The answer is why it's not an issue that drives people to vote.

It's not cognitive dissonance.

The democrat Party has been crystal clear about their priorities:

Criminals > Citizens
Illegals > Everyone
Fake Climate Change > lower energy prices

We hear you loud and clear
