More Brandon Lake. I love this.

I had no idea that ^ the last song I posted won a Grammy. It's so cool that Brandon represented Jesus at the Grammy awards.

Here's the main version of the song, with Chandler Moore.

This is so good.... 🙌

Accurate.

That doesn't surprise me. In fact, seeing religious hypocrisy and empty religion was the reason why I rejected all of it, from a young age. And when I was old enough to make my own decisions, I walked away from ALL of it for many years.

But years later I realized that I had thrown the baby out with the bathwater. Religion and God are not the same thing. In fact, out of everyone, guess who Jesus had the highest criticism for? The "religious" leaders of that day....Here's what He had to say:

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness."
- Matthew 23:27

"Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you neglect what is more important in the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness! You should have done these things without neglecting the others."
- Matthew 23:23

That same theme is in the Old Testament:

Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me... Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
- Isaiah 1:13-17

And here's what God says about true religion:

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
- James 1:27

No, they need an EXCUSE to reject obedience to God
They think blaming others for their imperfections will release them from their own personal responsibility before God when they give an account of their on their own lives on the Day of Judgement.

You cant fool God

the 1st century events are the repudiation of judaism, their religion they claim heavenly - false commandments, hereditary idolatry, religion of apartheid, false heavenly personifications et al ... a disservice by the christian bible to distract the true events for rather ascribing more trivial cancers as local personalities and timely bigotries in dissuading the actual truth.

jesus would never have allowed the false commandments of moses as an inclusion to their spoken heavenly religion of liberation theology, self determination.

Reading comprehension is a lost art. Or science. MAGA rejects both. 🤷‍♂️

The poll was why people turned away from religion, not turned away from faith.

Well how about that!

On another thread I mentioned Psalm 27:1 which has to do with not having a reason to fear, when you belong to God and are under God's protection.

....and that reminded me of this song. It's not a recent song, but it's beautiful. Definitely worth a listen.:)

Peace

He is my Light and my Salvation
Whom have I to fear
In His secret place I'll hide and pray
That I might hear a simple word

O how I would have despaired
If You had not come found me there
I can lean against Your throne and find my Peace
Find my Peace

And when my enemies draw near
I pray that they will find
That I'm protected and secure
All tempests He will bind with a mighty word

O how I would have despaired
If You had not come found me there
I can lean against Your throne and find my Peace
Find my Peace

He is my Light and my Salvation whom have I to fear?
