Hosea's Wife

I just spoke silence with the seeker next to me
She had a heart with hesitant, halting speech
That turned to mine and asked belligerently
"What do I live for?"

I see the scars of searches everywhere I go
From hearts to wars to literature to radio
There's a question like a shame no one will show
"What do I live for?"

We are Hosea's wife
We are squandering this life
Using people like ladders and words like knives

If we've eyes to see
If we've ears to hear
To find it in our hearts and mouths
The Word that saves is near
Shed that shallow skin
Come and live again
Leave all you were before
To believe is to begin

There is truth in little corners of our lives
There are hints of it in songs and children's eyes
It's familiar, like an ancient lullaby
What do I live for?

We are Hosea's wife
We are squandering this life
Using bodies like money and truth like lies

If we've eyes to see
If we've ears to hear
To find it in our hearts and mouths
The Word that saves is near
Shed that shallow skin
Come and live again
Leave all you were before
To believe is to begin

We are more than dust
That means something
That means something
We are more than just
Blood and emotions
Inklings and notions
Atoms on oceans

We are Hosea's wife
We are squandering this life
Using people like ladders and words like lies

If we've eyes to see
If we've ears to hear
To find it in our hearts and mouths
The Word that saves is near
Shed that shallow skin
Come and live again
Leave all you were before

It's not replacement theology. I mean, that was the whole point of the meme.
You're DENYING God's ETERNAL promise to ISRAEL because of your limited Catholic/Protestant understanding of the Covenants

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

the heavenly sabbath to be kept holy for whoever would venture admission to the everlasting.

- prove the heavens ever spoke to favor one group over another.
Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
“I will be their God and they shall be My people"

He said it over and over and over and over...

first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” ... “I will be their God and they shall be My people"

prove those words were ever spoken than what ram finds pleasing from the 4th century - regardless the final chapter of the 1st century events ...

there are neither [jew] nor [gentile] that reside in the heavens as made certain, 0ce - 70ce as those events ultimately proved true, the refutiation of judaism's false commandments et al.

The Gospel going out to the Jews first doesn't mean that God plays favorites...which was Breezewood's statement. That would go against Romans 2:11, Deuteronomy 10:17, 2 Chronicles 19:7, Job 34:19, Acts 10:34-35 and more.

Maybe, but the verse doesn't say, "To the Jews and the Gentiles". He specifically categorized us as 1. and 2. It doesn't mean God loves one over the other. He just has covenants and promises to keep that He made with His friend Abraham...

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe that in the days of Jesus and his apostles that the gospel was to to go first to Jews and then to the Gentiles. However, in these last days, the gospel was to go first to the Gentiles and then to the Jews. This we believe was one of the meanings of this saying by Jesus:

Matthew 19:30
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Matthew 20:16
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Mark 10:31
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

Luke 13:30
And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

He just has covenants and promises to keep that He made with His friend Abraham...

the beginning and reiteration began in paradise and ended at the time of noah - the heavenly goal, to triumph good vs evil, to sin no more is accomplished through self determination for all beings as the means to attain heavenly judgement and admission to the everlasting.

the three desert religions have no heavenly bearings and is madeup by a few individuals and those congregations that chose to believe them and having done so strayed from the heavenly path.

I love this song.

I've posted this before on another thread. But listening to it again, right now...

sin no more is accomplished through self determination for all beings as the means to attain heavenly judgement and admission to the everlasting.
The exact opposite of what to do. We are to put self to death and follow Christ:

Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

to follow jesus their interpretation is and will always be - to sin no more - as that from the heavens and their conflagration the parable of noah as the means for attaining judgement and admission to the everlasting - would be following in their path.

luke: was never spoken by jesus, the 1st century events what jesus taught was liberation theology, self determination the repudiation of judaism servitude and denial their commandments et al as those events culminated in 70ce not the crucifixion.

Matthew 20:16
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen
I think the definition of that scripture is found in the scripture. Many are called, but few are chosen refers to us. Many have heard the gospel, not every one accepts it.
But for me, the parable that explains it is odd. In the parable, the master makes the pay of his workers equal.

In a church, the preacher was there, and also an epileptic man who made it his job to stand at the sanctuary door and open it for everyone coming in. He was the last one through the door. If I were God, I would be just as impressed by John's service as I would be about the preacher's.

But then it refers to many being called, but few are chosen. I know what that means, but I don't know how it fits with the fairness parable. :dunno: I am missing something in the parable...

For that particular parable, Jeffrey R. Holland, an apostle in our church who recently passed away gave the following speech which I found to be quite touching:

The Laborers in the Vineyard

Breezie, I love ya, but you have created a set of beliefs/religion that are unique and have nothing to do with scripture. Just remember, when you have nowhere to turn, and your beliefs let you down, you have a friend in Jesus.

already have as a friend, standing together no denial by this one, than those disown him three times the rooster crowed the crucifiers as all that is required the spoken religions to sin no more as is needed for the heavenly goal - to triumph good vs evil being the means to acquire judgement through self determination for admission to the everlasting.
