The Junior Girls' Double Final saw Kristina Penickova (USA) and Vendula Valdmannova (CZE) defeat Thea Frodin (USA) and Julieta Pareja (USA) in straight sets 6-4 6-2

I just finished watching Jannik Sinner (ITA) defeat Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4

Sinner's first Wimbledon Gentlemen's Title and also the first for Italy.

Plenty of ineffective drop shots from Carlos started to unravel the two-time champion. Only 53% first serves in for Carlos compared to 62% for Jannik. Sinner twice as aggessive at net. No tiebreaks.

One champagne cork ended up on court during the match.

There have been periods I preferred women's tennis over the men! I was terribly entertained by them before the Evert phenomenon occurred making little Chrissie-clones hugging the baseline! Women's tennis was the best earlier w/ the likes of Margaret Court, Billy Jean King, Virginia Wade, & Evonne Goolagong who were S & V as well as any man! When Hingis came along, she had a way of keeping the crowd's interest playing chessboard tennis since she had no real power! I like Justine Henin, then Osaka, Barty, & now Swiatek! Men's tennis had a Golden Age w/ The USA leading the way! From the 70's on, we had Connors, McEnroe, then later in the 90's w/ Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Chang, then Roddick! American women have made a comeback winning the last 3 majors, but the men are still in the weeds only showing flashes of brilliance the last decade or so; nothing consistent!
