I always like to use the toaster analogy. If you own a toaster factory or stock in a toaster factory, what is better, a community where one guy can afford to buy 200 of your toasters or having 200 people who can afford to buy one toaster? Republicans--shockingly--think it's better to have the one guy. Any rich person (or anyone with brain cells) will tell you it's better to have the 200 people who can afford one toaster because there is no way a rich guy is going to buy 200 units. Now translate that into high end cars, homes, gaming consoles, etc...
Now as to what you were saying, the rich guy who can afford 200 toasters (or cars or laptops or whatever) doesn't really know he can afford that many since it would never occur to him to buy 200 of anything. It's a hard question to answer, I don't like putting words into other peoples' mouths. So I selected one of the billionaires that I never heard of from the article and opened the link to the profile Forbes provided. It was that of Jeff Skoll, I thought it might give me a clue.
Based on the 2nd bullet I could guess that Skoll thought Biden could better handle fighting the pandemic. But I wouldn't know Skoll from a guy in the next block and so any answer reflects my thought rather than his. So I'll cry uncle on the question.

Now in the midst of his reelection campaign, President Trump has accepted donations from 80 (now 99) billionaires and their spouses, according to a review of Federal Election Commission filings. Fifty-one moguls donated in their own names. Seven others are married to people who did. In other words, 9% of America’s billionaires, who together are worth a combined $210 billion—either directly or through their spouse—have pitched in to cover the costs of Trump’s 2020 campaign.

Times have, indeed, changed as TRUMP may have been able to self-fund in the Republican primary that had around 15 candidates, but the general election, with a Bias Left-Wing Media providing his opponent with HUNDREDS of MILLIONS worth of anti TRUMP propaganda, it was necessary to get monies from outside sources.
Add to that the wealthy TECH GIANTS censor conservative thought and it is clear that the election is anything but FAIR, anything but above board.
I mean, the MSM refuses to ask BIDEN a hard question, with no follow up. That is worth a HUGE amount of money for the Biden campaign.
