the biggest problem with public schools is

So, a teacher, knowing how easy a course is, could never say that 'everyone should be able to learn this'? Most courses aren't tailored for the brightest students, are they?
You don't think teachers already do that?

What they don't do is imply their students are mentally retarded, which is what you said.

Public schools are not the military. You didn't sign up for school. If there was anyone on God's green earth that knows that it would be me. 23 tears active and reserve in the Navy and 21 years teaching, 7 years of that overlapping.
Military School students outperform public school students.

I said that the only legitimate excuse for not learning is mental deficiency. You're making my case for better reading comprehension (and you're a teacher). :omg:

if you cannot see that is exactly the same thing, you have a mental defect yourself. Nutz is definitely the correct part of your username.

Because I keep telling you are fucking clueless, as others have also, and you just don't get. According to you, that means you have a mental defect. That's something I can't fix!
Let's see. Education worked in my day, but doesn't in yours, and it's me that doesn't get it?

"Differentiated Instruction" meaning,

The patients are now running the asylum. :omg:

Formal education, whether public or private, is compulsory up to the age of 18 in most states. The only things different are the discipline and the uniform.

I taught multiple courses each day, at least two and sometimes 4. I taught applied math, algebra, algebra II and pre-calculus at various times. In social studies I taught government, American history, World History, economics, law and justice, and life skills. I often taught social studies and math at the same time. In one school, I taught the exact same students math in the first year, and social studies in the second year. Teachers now usually teach in teams, meaning the same students are in each teacher's class, they move from one to the other. I was a team leader before I became an assistant principal where I had 4 teams of teachers.

Were you taught that way? That is why your education is atypical compared to now.
I thought teachers had teach classes based on their certification or has that gone away too

Works great in the school districts where I worked except for Louisville, KY. They are a disaster but were not when I attended their schools in the 1970s. Liberalism killed it.

How do you explain military dependents schools beating everything? The answer is simple, Discipline! Mom and Dad don't want to get kicked out of base housing.

BTW, dependents don't wear uniforms unless they are in ROTC and that's once a week. I taught the entire Army ROTC freshman class how to tie their ties!

In this day, this ^^^ doesn't mean the same thing as in our day. A large group of parents today are opting for "home schooling" in order to escape the indoctrination centers. The only formality is that the home schooled student must meet the academic criteria standards and show proof during the school term.

Sorry, I'm referring to high school military academies.

Why do you insist on posting so much in the education forum when you clearly know nothing about education?
It's all in your point of view. You represent the teacher's pov, I the students. Why do you think I don't know anything about the student's pov? Do you believe that education is all about teaching and not about learning as well? Teaching is a group activity, learning is quite personal, as the grading system suggests.

You've no doubt heard this one.

"A pastor preaches a single sermon, but his flock of one hundred hears one hundred different sermons."
