The Big One Is Coming’ and the U.S. Military Isn’t Ready

What's disturbing about China is that they have made a national priority of Chinese women coming here to give birth to an American citizen then returning to China. Such birth tourism has been going on for decades. China has more than one sizeable military unit composed entirely of American citizens. A military invasion would be very easy. Just take a commercial flight.

And every single one of those carriers can be destroyed .....oh.....ever so fast....by just one single nuclear submarine.....

it is what it is!:)

Carriers are a lot harder to sneak up on and fire a torpedo at than you might think. Not only that, but they are pretty hard to sink with just one torpedo. Then, there is the fact that ALL U.S. Navy ships are built from the ground up with what is called "watertight integrity". If you need further edification on what that is, look it up or ask a Sailor. Basically, it means that each and every space on that ship can be sealed off from each and every other one in case of being breached and taking on water.. If a sub fired a torpedo at a carrier (assuming of course that it got past the escort of ships sailing with it), it would only get off one, maybe two, and then it would have to deal with all the firepower and systems on the carrier (and its escort) because priority one would be to find and sink the sub. Chances are, the sub wouldn't survive, but the carrier would.

They have two now ( one they built themselves ) and two keels laid for two more )

It takes several years from laying a keel to having a complete warship. And then, there is the time to train the crew on all the systems and making sure it is seaworthy and able to fight. Sea trials (where the ship is checked and the crew is trained) can take a couple of years.

Whatever. :)...we'll have to wait and see what happens......if it happens.....right?

Spoken like a civilian who has no knowledge of what the Navy does. Me? I did a 4 year sea duty tour with a squadron, and did 2 deployments onboard carriers. They are a hell of a lot more defended and dangerous than you might think.

cool, congratulations!

did you ever faced a nuclear submarine?

The more astute understood this long ago.....unfortunately many others still fail to grasp just how big of a threat China is.

As pointed out in the article the fact that China sent a hyper-sonic missle around the earth and brought it back to China should have been take much more seriously than it was.....what that demonstrates is that any American City can be hit by China without warning.

Under the current biden regime it is more important for our military to be 'woke' regarding current social issues such as transgenerism, racism etc. than it is to be combat ready....we could pay a huge price for such stupidity.

What the clueless fail to understand is that Aircraft Carriers today are obsolete....like Battleships were in WWII.

Why in the hell have you not told the Pentagon this!!??

If we did, it never got close enough to matter, and the only ones that would have known about it would have been the intel types in CIC. By the way, which kind of nuclear submarine are you talking about? Fast attacks or boomers? Do you even know the difference?
