The Banning Conspiracy

Getting banned for telling the truth isn't a conspiracy. It is a stone cold fact. If it doesn't happen because of the truth I am about to tell you, it will be a miracle. In the late 60's, Israel was at war with its neighbors. Israel tried to sink a U.S. spyship called the USS Liberty. Probably so they could blame the sinking on Egypt and sucker the U.S. into getting more directly involved on the side of Israel. But the ship proved too hard of a nut to crack.

The troubling thing is that the USS Liberty sent out a distress signal telling U.S. forces that they were under attack. There was an aircraft carrier close enough to have sent help. But no help was sent. I have heard of some in the military who said that they didn't want to take on Israel. Which is a load of crap. Israel couldn't exist without U.S. support. Also, once Israeli jets saw U.S. fighters appraoching, they would have had no choice but to turn tail and run. Or be shot out of the sky.

What I think was probably going on was that there were at least some in the U.S.-Israel military who planned to sink the USS Liberty to get the U.S. more directly involved in their war. But apparently somebody forgot to tell the crew of the USS Liberty that they were supposed to sacrifice themselves.

Once again, here is the truth, as this pops up periodically to try to spread falsehoods, to damage Israel-
The USS Liberty Attack

On June 8, 1967, during the Six Day War, Israeli war planes and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty, an intelligence gathering ship, while it was on a surveillance mission off the shores of El Arish, in the Sinai Peninsula. 34 Americans died and 171 were injured. Israel claimed it mistook the Liberty for an enemy vessel. Several Israeli and U.S. investigations corroborated that claim.

In 1999, moreover, a National Security Agency report from 1981 was released claiming that "the tragedy resulted not only from Israeli miscalculation but also from faulty U.S. communications practices." Since July 2003, this report has been available on the NSA Web site accompanied by a recording of radio communications between Israeli pilots made by a U.S. spy plane on the scene throughout the episode.

The NSA report and other documents declassified since the incident - including a trove of government materials released in January 2004 - support findings that the bombing was a case of mistaken identity. Some of the different investigations and their conclusions are listed below.

The most thorough non-governmental treatment of the bombing is A. Jay Cristol's The Liberty Incident (2002). Cristol, a U.S. bankruptcy judge and former U.S. Navy lawyer, concludes that "the totality of evidence establishes that the attack on the USS Liberty was a tragic case of mistaken identity that resulted from a compounding of bad mistakes perpetrated by both the United States and Israel, and nothing more." He analyzes, and meticulously debunks, previous books, articles and TV productions that argue that the attack was intentional and government investigations only cover-ups.

Conspiracy Theories

Despite the abundance of evidence that the bombing was a tragic mistake, conspiracy theories alleging that Israel intentionally attacked the Liberty have been a hallmark of conspiratorial anti-Israel propaganda since 1967. (Perhaps unsurprisingly, a number of Liberty crewmen believe the attack was intentional.)Why is the Liberty incident so popular among anti-Israel conspiracy theorists? The reasons are clear. If Israel knowingly attacked and killed Americans, the views of radical critics of the country are confirmed with graphic clarity. These views include: a) the belief that Israel will turn against the U.S. whenever it suits its interests; b) the belief that Israel's control over the American political and military structure is so great that it can openly kill Americans because it knows that officials at every level will work together to cover up the crime; and c) the belief that Israel is a terrorist state.

depoto,
You seem to have gone through some trouble to show the text of some lies. But the USS Liberty sent out distress signals that were received by American forces. But no help was sent. As to the mistaken identity thing, that is an even bigger lie. Sailors on the ship said there was no way that attacking Israeli aircraft couldn't have known that it was an American ship.

Also earlier in the day, the Liberty was overflown by an Israeli observation airplane. Sailors said it flew over so low that the noise of the propellers caused the deck planking to rattle. They even waved at the pilots and the pilots waved back. Is that recognition enough?

That was hours earlier by which time the position of our ship had changed and the Israelis had lost track of it. Multiple US inquiries found the incident to be a tragic case of friendly fire - something that occurs too often in the fog of war - but Nazis occasionally try to rehash (and distort) the story.

Are you by chance a Nazi?

That's not new info (HuffPost is behind the curve). A years old study published in Psych Today revealed that CTs tend to believe in multiple CTs, even the fake CTs (redundant?) that were manufactured for the study to serve as placeboes.

It seems to be a cult-like bizarro-world where adherents are required to honor, respect and accept any CT silliness that rumbles down the pike.
