The Art of the Retreat… did Trump just blink on Iran because his base can’t afford to fill up their trucks?”

His war is illegal. See Constitution Article I, Section 8.
Wrong.

The President, in fact, is the commander in chief. (See Same Constitution.) He, therefore, has a sworn duty to use our military against an imminent threat.

He didn’t “declare” us to be in war. That’s Congress’s job. The President simply proceeded as the Constitution commands him and as it clearly demands of him.

That’s far from “illegal.” It’s the antithesis.

This thread must do a wonderful service for you libtards to get together and laugh at each other, as you try to out-stupid the other braindead sycophants of Marxism when Trump outwits you again and again!

You bitched about the attack on Iran last year, you bitched about it now, and since he beat you again, you need a session to lie, pat each other on the back and prepare for your next epic failure! Enjoy your TDS delusions!
Wow. In my properly humble opinion, you just literally nailed it.

Figuratively, if not “literally.”

Either way, kudos to you.

These people have turned into unfunny self-parodies.

yesterday they were claiming it would be another endless middle-eastern war. Now that it is about to end, they say Trump is chickening out.

When Trump is gone, they will struggle to find new material.

Trump is driving the Libnutt Cult crazier.
The Pedocrats are now mourning the Facist Ayatollahs.

Rubio and Vance were against it.

Ratcliffe, Hegseth, and Netanyahu were for it. So was Fox News, of course.
This Iranian war is one I struggle with as I understand how important it is for Iran to have regime change, for a multitute of reasons from saving the people and giving them freedom to removing China and Russias influence. The issue is "how"? They now replaced the old boss with a new one and he is just his younger son. Before the attacked they needed to have a belief in a strong percentage of success, especially if regime change was on the table. Time will tell which decision was correct. At the very least, Irans military is extremely weak. I try to be as objective as I can, esepcially about war. You do not want to get caught up in a quagmire.

This is the same guy who stood at his State of the Union just two weeks ago bragging about $1.99 gas as proof of his economic genius. Now Susie Wiles is apparently running around White House meetings warning that pump prices are going to be “catastrophic” for Republicans in the midterms. Trump is calling a 50-cent-per-gallon increase in a single week a “little glitch.”
The man launched a war that’s choking 20% of the world’s oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz and somehow seems surprised that gas got expensive. Oil is really high. The people who were promised $2 gas are now paying $3.47.
So was the four-to-five week timeline always the plan, or did gas inflation just become the exit ramp? The hawks wanted this war. The base wanted cheap gas. Turns out you can’t always have both.

No joined up thinking.

Just "Epstein files, what can we do?" "Bomb Iran" "Oh, oil prices have gone up, what can we do?" "Don't bomb Iran" "oh, we didn't take out the Iranian regime, what can we do?" "Pretend we never intended to do this and declare victory?" "Good idea, buy me an ice cream" "yes sir" "jump out the window" "yes sir" "get a blow job from a 13 year old" "yes sir, anything you say sir."

what reversal ? Troops on the ground was never in the planning .. the operation was only supposed to last a few weeks ..
Sure. Trump ranted the other day about being in this for the long haul. What happens? The stock market tanks. Then he claims this will be over soon. What happened? The market rebounds.

Ask yourself who's manipulating the stock market so the greed mongers in Washington & Wall St can clean up. Anyone who trusts that bunch is out of their mind.

Carter's war; Trump is ending a Demnazi forever war!! What a guy; Mt Rushmore!!!

Cold war victim. It started with Truman/Eisenhower 73 years ago in 1953. How dare Iran try to nationalize our oil fields, ops did I say "our"? I meant their oil fields.

"When Iranian revolutionaries entered the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979 and seized 52 Americans, President Jimmy Carter dismissed reminders of America’s long intervention in Iran as “ancient history.” Carter’s point was not merely that previous U.S. policy could not excuse the hostage taking. His adjective also implied that there was nothing of value to be learned from that history. In his view, dredging up old matters was more than unhelpful; it was also dangerous, presumably because it could only serve the interests of America’s adversaries. Thus, to raise historical issues was at least unpatriotic and maybe worse.[1]"

Acknowledged herein is a fundamental, yet deplorably overlooked, distinction between understanding and excusing. The purpose of this survey is not to pardon acts of violence against innocent people but to understand the reasons that drive people to violent political acts.[2] The stubborn and often self-serving notion that the historical record is irrelevant because political violence is inexcusable ensures that Americans will be caught in crises in the Middle East and elsewhere for many years to come.

Hey Genius, I just heard that gas prices just dipped back down a little today. Where was your panic when people were paying $8.00/gallon for gas in 2022?

The man launched a war that’s choking 20% of the world’s oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz
Actually, Professor, that is the UK's fault. Insurance companies in the UK pulled their liability insurance from losses from those tankers, THAT is why they are sitting motionless.

and somehow seems surprised that gas got expensive.
Gee, I was paying far higher prices back in 2005. And there was no war.

Still, you ignore the other side completely, like when Joe Biden gave 300 billion to Ukraine at a time: war is never good, but sometimes it is necessary, and sure, this war might bring with it a few unpleasantries for us for a few weeks or months, but in the process, we are likely removing our biggest nuclear threat, a brutal regime who may have just slaughtered 100,000 people, and forever makes our oil supplies in the ME undependable always pending Iranian cooperation and permission. Winning this war might settle all of that PLUS improve the whole situation with Israel/Gaza/Hezbollah and others. Not to mention, redefines our standing with China, Russia, Cuba and many other less-than-friendly countries.

Yet as usual, you are totally blind to the big picture and all you care about is dissing the war, dissing the military, and dissing Trump, hoping for it to all go south so your party can get back in power to pick right up where they left off.

Are you just brain damaged, a paid partisan, or just plain evil?

Even your name is a fraud.

Yes. Gas prices went down as soon as Trump went TACO. Being weak was actually a good thing.
