Joe Rogan transforms Austin's historic Ritz into an anti-woke comedy club downtown​

Joe Rogan — the 55-year-old controversial podcast host, comedian, UFC announcer and recent California to Austin transplant — opened his anticipated anti-woke comedy club downtown this week.

He bought the historic Ritz Theater off Sixth Street last year in February, as first reported by Austin Towers, and began restoring the building to transform it into the Comedy Mothership. He announced on Twitter that opening night would be Tuesday.

Not seeing who you guys are arguing with. The Ritz has a good location. He will have to pull in some dollars though as the rent is really high now and major acts go to Bass Hall just down the way (thats where we saw Ron White).

Well this is the old Alamo theater. It would be interesting to see what they retained.
IIRC but Esthers Follies is not too far from there, but I always thought Capitol City was the biggest comedy club. Saw a young Fluffy and Larry the Cable Guy there.

This is not the free market. this is forced propaganda from the elites of the world. And frankly, comedy that used to be in clubs late at night became mainstreamed at some point and the issues from it evolved.

The weekend after that? Going to see some midget wrestling.

Somewhere in there the new evil dead movie comes out.
