Except the meat people eat today is nothing like the meat people ate 3 million years ago.^ Some of these nutrients specific to meat include:
- Vitamin B12:liver, red meat, oysters, seafood. Essential for maintaining a healthy nervous system, the production of DNA and red blood cells, maintenance of cognitive function
- Choline: eggs, organ meats (beef liver, kidney), red meat, salmon roe, fish. Especially important for fertility–supports neurological development, fetal growth, and reduces risk of chronic diseases later in life [11]
- Vitamin K2: Goose and beef liver, pork chops, eggs, chicken wings, cheese. Unlocks potential of all other fat soluble vitamins. Supports heart health, bone health, prevents cancer. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17]
- Preformed vitamin A (retinol): Duck liver, lamb liver, cheese, salmon roe. Essential for healthy immune function, vision, physical growth, and fertility. [18][19] [20] [21] [22]
It's loaded with hormones and antibiotics and animals are fed diets that are nothing like the wild forage animals ate 3 million years ago. People do not eat the organ meats brains and eyeballs like people did 3 million years ago either.
Instead they eat overly fat cholesterol laden meats in portions that are enough to feed 3 people.
People 3 million years ago only ate eggs for a very short seasonal time when wild birds were laying eggs and only then if they could find them.
And no one ate cheese or drank animal milk 3 million years ago
