The American Dream.... Why is it now in Canada?

Canada is nothing more than a collection of border towns sucking wealth from the US.

I love how arrogrant and stupid Americans can be. None of Canada's great cities is a "border town". Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver - nowhere near the border. Canadians enjoy more personal freedom than Americans, our cities have murder rates of less than 100 people per year. We have a better education system, a better healthcare system, and our infrastructure isn't crumbling.

Companies want to locate here because it's similar to the US without conservatives fucking everything up - no guns, no pollution, lower crime rate, better education and health care, and our government cares more about its people than it's corporations.

And MORE PERSONAL FREEDOM.

This is absurd. Propaganda if ever there were such a thing. I DARE Americans to line up and leave for Canada. I double dare you! This is especially true if you are motivated, ambitious and intelligent. Go forward to Canada and we will compare your trajectory to your relative comparable. You will be looking to move back to America the first plane out. How bad is it here? We had refugees from Syria who we accepted and they left after a year because of lack of opportunity. They went back to a war zone in the Middle East rather than stay in Canada! I don't make this up.

I'm a guy who graduated university with an award for graduating top 4% of class. Was in my MBA program scoring 85th percentile on my GMAT. Have successful corporate sales experiences, including a nomination for a prestigious award. I am currently unemployed while my wife work with a 1% raise TOTAL over the last 4 years. Didn't take vacations, have endless amount of energy and passion for work.

I was born poor and will die poor, because that's the Canadian system. We don't have a constitution or guarantees of Pursuit of Happiness, we stab allies in the back and present a false facade to the world. Canada is a caste system that rewards government and historic loyalists at the expense of liberty, due process and free markets. Canada's job creation is borrowing and spending for their pals. In effect, it's theft from future generations. I know people in high school who snuck by with C's, they are making $100k+ in government with massive pensions.

Almost every successful student I met in High school and university made it by going to America, those who earn a good wage in Canada are all government employees. I volunteered at such a government place a few years ago, there was a guy making $150k a year to push paper and he was asleep at work. Another took 140 days off in the year for various colds, flues, headaches etc. Not any underlying, life threatening illness, just her constantly taking advantage of her government position.

Here's an offer to anyone who wants to do some sort of exchange program. Citizens like myself would gladly trade places with you for the chance at opportunity that does not exist in Canada. I would start working inside sales making cold calls and work my way up. Our systems are night and day, don't let anyone tell you differently. Consider our history.

Just look at Silicon Valley and how many Canadians are there, you think that's because they are foregoing great potential in Canada? LOL If Trump throws them back to Ontario they will go from making $120k U.S to $45k Canadian with higher expenses. Many working in our government are state agents or children of state agents. You can piece that together yourself.

So you're a total loser, and you blame Canada.
Bluntly stated, if you were all of that and a bag of peanuts, you'd be working. Even at the age of 64, I was able to find work in my field.

I don't know a single person right now who wants to work and can't find a job. Everywhere I go, I see "help wanted" signs. I live in a village with hardly any jobs at all, and everyone but the drug addicts and welfare types are working.

Oh, and the Syrian refugees who want to go home - they're government sponsored refugees who got dumped in a fleabag motel in Toronto with no support workers, who can't speak English, and who aren't claiming lack of opportunity at all:

"We were told that when we arrived to the hotel that we would only be staying for three to four days maximum. However, things have been changed and we've been here for 10 to 11 days, and we've been told it could be even longer. The problem is that we have kids and we would rather be outside in a settled house than sitting at a hotel," Abu-Rukti said.

"We feel like our kids are just stuck here. We go into one room, we eat, and then we return to other room and just go to bed. Our kids don't have anywhere to play, nowhere to go out. We feel like we're just trapped in a prison."

Please note that the CBC who published this story, also made arrangements for the refugees to get the assistance promised them.

When conservatives fail, it's always someone else's fault. The government is the chief whipping boy. Or illegal immigrants. Or Obamacare. It's never that you chose poorly. Or that you're not as talented as you think you are. Anyone who is good in sales and doesn't have a job in today's job market, is either lying, or has other issues making them unemployable.

I have a friend with a long, successful career in marketing, who found himself out of a job 2 years ago, and discovered that marketing is a young man/woman's game and he could not get hired. So he started working as a freelance consultant, taking on projects, or helping new start-ups who needed his expertise, but couldn't afford to hire a full-time person. He created his own job, and now has as many clients as he needs to have the lifestyle he wants.

When I retired, I started a small home-based business which is doing quite nicely, thank you very much.

You would be born and die poorer in the United Stated too, blaming off-shoring, and illegal immigrants, with no health care, no pension, and be voting for Trump because the powers that be screwed you over.

Ask the guys from Roots about leaving the US and coming to Canada to succeed.

Canada as been a leech for the last 30 years. We have violated International Law and our obligations under NAFTA. I should know, I blew the whistle on these tactics and paid a steep price in my career for doing so.

We have a Charter of Rights which means nothing in Canada, as we pay homage to our Monarchy roots. We interfere in the free market domestically, the pursuits of individuals and corporations on our soil. We are a has been economy, which is currently 10th in the world, predicted to drop to 12th in the world by 2019. How much further we slide is anyones guess. The result of decades of loyalists rewards, crony capitalism and a failed quasi communist state while stabbing allies in the back.

I have said it 1000 times, if Japan were in the same geographical location as Canada it would have an economy 3x the size of Canada. They innovate and work hard while protecting individual rights. Consider all of the advantages Canada has:

1. a very favourable free trade agreement with the largest economy in the world
2. Always underpaying for military costs and in some cases not spending at all because we rely on America
3. Being able to assess the largest consumption economy in the world

Yet, through all of this, and massive resources; we STILL stab U.S companies in the back. We believed we would get away with it forever, now with the changes to NAFTA, our abuses will be repaid, one way or another. The changes to NAFTA will hit Ontario hardest, which is fitting considering how we pay $550M for GM to keep jobs here, but I digress; it will then impact the rest of Canada. We can trade with the world, good luck with that. America was treated like a patsy, and it upsets me to no end, other countries wont allow these abuses to go on without consequences.

You can call me all the names you want, I know my successes and potential. My efforts will continue to be spent advising and making American authorities aware of the abuses Canada has engaged in, I know, because I experienced great repercussions when I blew the whistle but I still remain strong. If you don't like my message, contact the RCMP. I have cc'ed Bob Paulson on a few of these communications with American authorities, you can be sure I won't be stopping now that we have a president who "gets it". The RCMP like their surrogates operate without accountability, Americans know this now, you can bet on it and I care little how much they know I share. Let's see how things go when NAFTA is altered...

\So what you are saying is if not for the sanctions of the US on Cuba, the Socialist Utopia would of been a paradise of Wealth?

See picture below, of a country that is Socialist, and has no US sanctions on it. Dumbass.

Venezuela and Greece - the two conservative poster countries for the evils of socialism. Let's ignore : Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, really, all of Western Europe, and focus on two of capitalism's victims.

Greece was forced by the IMF and the World Bank to undertake certain austerity measures to get their country back on track. These measures created extreme financial hardships for Greece, and the people revolted. The response of the IMF and the World Bank, as well as the EU, was to double down on the austerity measures, and the Greek people doubled down on their resistance.

Venezuela isn't is the shitter because of socialism, but because their economy is dependent on oil exports and when the bottom fell out of the oil prices, their economy went into the toilet. If oil prices go back up to $100 a barrel (unlikely in the short term), Venezuela would be out of the woods.

I've been to America many times, they are a more free and opinionated society. Canadians smile and hold in their opinion but stab you in the back. I've read articles written by Canadians who lived in Washington while on extended assignment for their newspapers. Or university grads who moved to California. Tell them that Canada has more personal freedom. Compare the Charter of Rights and Freedoms with the US Constitution, it's a joke. Americans actually KNOW their constitutional rights, Canada has the RCMP and their pals who have violated every Canadian right on a constant basis, while relying on the FBI to defend us from our own radicals. Like Aaron Driver, who the FBI made Canada aware of as he was en route to cause mass murder, or former navy spy Jeffrey Delisle, who was working for Russia if you cared to do any research. Both major threats identified by the FBI, while our agencies were chasing rabbits and harming U.S companies.

If Canada can't compete, it's because of whiners and the best and brightest being denied the ability to contribute, so that some security apparatuses under performing kid or wife have a job that someone better skilled should be doing.

God Bless America! I look forward to hearing USA! USA! Chanted in sports arenas again.

You're Twice As Likely To Achieve The American Dream In Canada
The United States is called the "land of opportunity." But economists say the American dream is actually much easier to achieve in Canada.
When U.S. President Donald Trump announced his election bid, he claimed "the American dream is dead," The Washington Post reported.
On the latest episode of the "Freakonomics" podcast, economist Raj Chetty explained that Trump's claim might be true — but that opportunity might have simply moved north.
I guess when the 1st bi-racial president who promised Hope and Change and the Fundamentally Transform America, he did such a bang up job, that the American Dream, became a diverse, socialist nightmare. Thank God, after 8 years of such failed Socialist Policies, that soon the American Dream will return and many will profit from it, and unfortunately, the liberals will too, as they get to be dragged along, kicking and screaming, how much they hate capitalism, yet get the rewards from it.

Socialist policies? What socialist policies?

And failed? Er... Bush failed.

I will respond with the picture below, as what ever I say, you will ignore as typical of your type.

I stay to even the score and because of duty to truth. I'm not running from a bunch of cowards who abuse their authority and pretend to be a free market based on democratic principles and liberty. I can provide much more meaning in my life by ensuring Americans are aware of what Canada is doing then any job I could think of.

The types of interference into my life are unmatched. My wife and I were ordered detained at the border, the U.S guards were frustrated with having to do so as they knew my wife and I didn't pose a threat. They were friendly and allowed us to enter, telling us we were detained at the behest of Canada. A subsequent FOIA request confirmed this.

Multiple employment interference, from IBM to RBC (our largest bank). Attempts to silence me because I know details that very few Canadians would have access to, and worse for Canada, I share these details.

Threats made on multiple occasions, both to my face and via cowardly tactics. Vehicles outside our home at all hours, attempting to intimidate us. Leaving dog feces on our welcome mat in our doorway the night my father in law passed, among other cowardly acts.

I could list all of the abuses but it doesn't matter. What matters at this point is what I share with American authorities. I was active as Trump was campaigning, reaching out to his team, some of who have earned powerful positions on his team. I think he understands the dirty tricks as well as anyone as he experienced his own brand of misrepresentations first hand, as have my wife and I. I simply won't be silenced, because these tactics are a threat to America and democracy, they will ultimately be harmful to Canada and our reputation.

How confident am I in what I know? I openly invite anyone to forward my assertions to the FBI, CIA or Trumps cabinet or larger team. I don't discourage this I welcome it with open arms. Canada would have little defense other than character assassinations or the like, these tactics have little value when my information is as detailed and accurate as it is, for the length of time I shared this, and, when I know of the U.S corporations that were illegally impacted.

As I've said quite a few times, I'm fed up with petty childish partisan nonsense.

Now that Trump has become president, I no longer have to put up with a petulant childish partisan president, who FORCED upon US a healthcare system that they knew was broke.
Moonbattery: Psychiatrist Confirms: Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder
Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded. Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave.

I hate to burst your little snot bubble but the healthcare system is more popular than the new president according to a FOX news poll.New poll shows Obamacare is more popular than Donald Trump

Yeah...big wonder....24/7 attacks by the democrat controlled media against Trump......and 24/7 coverage of obamacare as being awesome...even as it starts to collapse....you aren't saying anything intelligent here...

In other words, Americans are rude and bombastic and not afraid to show it. Canadians are polite and don't speak as openly, but will not suffer fools or traitors, gladly. I don't see this as a problem.

The best and the brightest do very well here. Despite your assertions that you are one of them, the more you reveal about yourself, the less I would want to hire you. You sound like you have a lot of education, but almost no humility, and a strong sense of entitlement. And you think you're right when obviously your are not or you wouldn't have gotten yourself such a bad reputation.

Agree with everything but your post still pissed me off! Margaret Thatcher was a great brit leader and American ally. Yet at her death not only did Barry not attend her funeral but sent no one to represent our country, but when that thug Michael Brown fortunately died we about didn't have enough airplanes to fly his jerkoffs to Missouri.

If you think Canada has more personal freedom than America, than you are either a troll, a government shill or clearly uninformed. I won't blame you for not knowing the details if you are ignorant, but at least clarify facts before you spew them.

Like Aaron Driver, if you cared to do any research.

Oh, you do sound like a Canadian government employee.

I grew up in abject poverty. Government housing, in a tough area of Toronto. I stayed in school, worked hard, never skipped school, didn't do drugs, didn't take short cuts, didn't follow the path of many I knew. When my step father threw me out of the apartment as a teenager, it was worse, I had to finish my last year and a half of high school, working part-time to live and getting good grades. I graduated university with an award and aggressively marketed myself until IBM hired me from a temp. position to full-time. A position I earned, being top sales rep in my three months, while others had a full year of sales data.

Entitled is what I am not, I am the anti-Canadian. After a decade of persecution and abuse by the state while the Canadian authorities refused to hold the police accountable, yes, I am outraged and not willing to give an inch. Very few could survive as we have, only because of my humble beginnings have I been able to struggle and stay afloat, keeping our home and a complete confidence in my character and my ability have we been able to eat and keep our home. I maintained one motto, "always tell the truth and everything will be alright". It is the Canadian government conmen who have to lie and misrepresent, not me.

Would an entitled person do heavy labour at a temp. job for minimum wage while in their 40's and clearly with a different career history? I had to ride a bike 45 minutes each way and do the late shift while 8 hours of non-stop labour as we lost our vehicle when my father in law passed. My body was beaten and sore, my wife had to put muscle ointment into my body every night, yet, I woke up, miserable and in pain but I rode to work and did eight hard hours without a break. Without complaint. Even working through an injury to my arm but didn't speak up about it as I wanted to fullfill my contract.

I won't do that again. I will make sure Americans know why someone like myself had to do that, and it was only temp. for six months. If Ontario loses their auto industry and Canada from coast to coast is questioned about their covert methods in American companies, that's life. As one operative told me, "it's a dog eat dog world".

To illustrate just how ridiculous Canada is. I spoke to a former U.S operative a decade ago before I contacted Canadian authorities, and he told me, "tell them what you told me, explain in details and let them know there will be consequences, only a really arrogant or insane nation would continue their abuses against you". Indeed.

I hope Donald J Trump, his government and the American people great prosperity over the next four years. Lord knows it is well overdue. America has been stabbed in the back by so many "allies" that only a heartless, self serving crook would not root for their success.

I've often dreamed of a mass exodus of American liberals migrating to Canada. This is just another reason to make it happen.

Ah, two-faced back-stabbers without the balls to say what they mean to someone's face? How noble....

He's got Germany in his info tag and Canada doesn't have more freedoms than America. I have lived extensively in both countries. Human Rights Commission case in point.

I fail to see why all you people are sniping at each other. Both Canada and the United States are great countries and great friends. Both have their pros and cons.

Have you been reading my story? Canada is no ally to America, I fell for that also until I became better informed and I am born and raised in Canada. This is particularly true in large cities like Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

Watch the outrage out of Canada if Trump got rid of NAFTA, the same agreement Canada has violated more times than any other country, and that doesn't even include the abuses that citizens like myself have reported but have no recourse to have addressed other than contacting the U.S authorities.

Just finished. I agreed with some and found others informative. Great comments albeit a little depressing. It's been over a decade since I returned to America from Canada. I squeaked out a living in Canada as an illustrator but most of my work came from the US. Way better pay as well. I was saddened by the election of Trudeau. I knew that would diminish Canada even further. More socialism more nanny state less opportunities and less freedoms especially the freedom of speech. By contrast America has far more opportunities even under that dirtbag BO. We are now literally watching our country here becoming great again. It's a beautiful thing. I wish Canada had their own Donald J Trump.

Btw is that terrible Human [no] Rights Commission still around?

The problem is, Harper in his second term was going off the rails, it was clear Trudeau would win. Also, he cares more about human rights and accountability than Harper, but, like every government before him except for Mulroney who had courage and strength of conviction; noone confronts the RCMP or their pals.

We have a Canadian Human Rights Commission and various police "oversight agencies. They do not have the courage nor desire to get involved in my situation. In fact, they ducked accountability. CSIS was caught recruiting British youth for ISIS a few years ago, reported on multiple networks. SIRC have no interest in getting involved. Former CIA agents speak out openly how shocked they are about Canadian abuses and how much they can get away with things. They can do things about government, without even being beholden to them, welcome to a stale, old, dying monarchy system.

Ironically, it was the Civil Rights department in the US Border Agency that took interest, and, the UN HRC. In the former, I received the FOIA, but the U.S didn't want to go further. They protected the information as it was Canada's responsibility for the detainment, the U.S never have nor ever will have a problem with me, which is why we were allowed entry. In fact, over a decade ago I inquired about wanting to join the U.S military and help out in some manner. There is no way the Americans or any other country would view me as a threat, they were unhappy having to detain us and are probably insulted by Canadian tactics. Not just in my case, but in many I have followed.

The UN accepted my complaint...three years after I made it! They requested details I could not be bothered to provide at this time, since they have no jurisdiction over Canada, I told them I will leave this file open until a future date if I just wish to go through the lengthy process as a method to expose and embarrass. What benefit I would get beyond this is minimal.

Canada is a serial violator of Human Rights. If Trump deals with this abuse of trade and other civil right issues, Canada is in deep trouble.
