'Woke' has been the primary gospel and pretty much primary agenda of the Democrats and left for some years now. DEI, CRT, open borders, cashless bail and other accommodations for actual criminals while lawfare is launched against law abiding citizens, etc. etc. reached epidemic proportions up to the 2025 inauguration.

The absurdities of pretty much everything that is 'woke' become more and more evidence via the efforts of DOGE and the free release of information by the current administration.

I hope in this thread we can catalogue some of the more ridiculous and indefensible examples of why 'woke' is a terrible and unwinnable agenda for the Democrats/American left to support.

It has long been clear to me that those who rail against the concept of “woke have little or no understanding of its actual meaning or origin . It has become the boogie man for all things liberal and progressive . We can debate the issues of DEI, CRT, open borders, cashless bail and so on for an eternity, but the liberal positions on those matters only represents of the conservative/ reactionary interpretation of what “woke” is.. The actual essence of “woke “ is far more basic, and actually very simple. It means to BE AWARE , TO BE AWAKE.

. A woke person is one who does not have blinders on or has their head up their ass. Yet you have managed to turn it into a dirty word. Something nefarious and subversive.

A woke person is not afraid of truth and knowledge or to confront uncomfortable realities of the past or present. Not surprising that conservatives hate and fear it so much. Conservatives' have consistently shown that they prefer ignorance to knowledge, lies and distortions to truth and honesty and denial of the reality of social injustice to an honest dialogue . Most egregiously, you accuse those who embrace woke of seeking to shame whites and divide the races, while denying the collective responsibility for the shameful history of this nation which is the very essence of divisiveness and a barrier to healing. Woke is progress. Anti woke is being stuck in a fictitious past largely constructed on a foundation of lies, denial and fantasy .

Woke is vulgar and sexually explicit parade displays and entertainment for children allowed under this guise of 'free speech and tolerance.' Tell me how that is a good thing.
Woke is using hundreds of thousands, million, billions of the taxpayer's money to fund ridiculous projects and initiatives the taxpayers would never agree to. Tell me how that is a good thing.

The origins of a word or how it was once defined is immaterial in the reality of what the word means to modern day Americans and how they now define it. "Gay" once meant light hearted and carefree. But if you call somebody 'gay' now, nobody thinks light hearted and carefree. That is one example of many many examples that could be used in how words have been co-opted into meanings they never were before.

"Woke" I believe is an outcrop of the modern day Marxism the left is attempting to force onto all of America. So a concept of 'collective guilt' is part and parcel of that. CRT for instance attempts to convince all Americans who aren't black that they are born and remain racist. And that is just nuts with a capital "N".

The Founders held to a philosophy as you pointed out that the individual is responsible and accountable for his/her own choices and behavior and all have the unalienable right to be presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.

You have not been able to tell me how my definition of 'woke' is incorrect in any way. You just say that it is wrong which is the way of the 'woke' and leftist mentality that either cannot or refuses to articulate an actual argument to support their accusations of others.
