The 14 Defining Characteristics Of Fascism

Which proves how far up his ass his head is. Clinton was the president then.

The USS Cole bombing was only 22 days before Bush was elected. All the while Republicans were crying "Wag the Dog". It took Bush longer than 22 days to respond to the 9/11/2001 attack. USS Cole bombing mastermind Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri wasn't even captured until late 2002.
Presidents don't take over on election eve. But thanks for admitting they captured the culprit behind the attack.

Gitmo prisoners under Bush = bad
Drone kills under Obama = good

We get it.

Where did I say Gitmo prisoners under Bush = bad?

Bush failed to prevent 9/11/2001 = Bad!
All convicted USS Cole bombing participants escaped on Bush's watch = Bad!
Bush waits 2 years to respond to USS Cole bombing = Bad!
Osama Bin Laden escaped on Bush's watch = Bad!

 Is that the GOP platform?

It's not their platform, that's a bunch of fair and free sounding bait, the switch comes when they get the power they crave. More cops, more soldiers, more explosions, more snooping, more Jebus, more money.

we have never been less free than when democrats are in charge.

Come to democratically run California. You can't even smoke in your car here.

Or run a business. We are taxed into oblivion.

Obama has increased the snooping into our private lives.

The republicans are the same with their army and spying on citizens. The problem is that the liberals keep blaming the conservatives and the other way around, but that most people miss the real problem, the Democrat and Republican big government lovers are both bad for this country.

When you use the word Fascist, please keep the following in mind. Some here are much more fascist than others.

"Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:

Must be a slow day on the boards to post this twaddle.
But since it's here, might as well humor the Libturd.

Look at #'s 13 & 14. Seems familiar. Of course it should....it's been happening alot over the last 5 years. Especially #13.

Pelley - "You're telling Condoleezza Rice in that meeting in the White House in July that we should take offensive action, in Afghanistan, now. Before 9/11"

Tenet - "We need to consider immediate action inside Afghanistan now. We need to move to the offensive"

Tenet's book - "Even though we told Rice an attack on Americans was imminent, she took our request to launch pre-emptive action in Afghanistan and delegated it to third-tier officials."

If they told Bush, they must also have told Clinton. So why didn't he do anything?

:cuckoo: They did not tell Clinton. They only knew of the terrorist hijackers after Bush was president & months before 9/11/2001. :cuckoo:

The 14 Defining Characteristics Of Fascism

"Dr." Britt and his study have already been debunked. In the first place, "Dr." Britt is not a doctor of anything. He's not a sociologist or a political scientist. He was an executive. He wrote one book. His "14 characteristics" were not the result of any research. He made them up off the top of his head.

In short, you're a sucker who got fooled by a quack. Mr. Lawrence Britt whipped a piece of abracadabra that appealed to all your prejudices, and you automatically assumed to was a fact. That's pretty much how the liberal mind works.

And yet not one of his characteristics are incorrect.

How did you determine that, by comparing them with all your irrational prejudices about Republicans?

Bullshit! The CIA, Tenet & Black all said they knew of the terrorist in the USA & they told Rice & Bush. They wanted authority to attack Al Qaeda & Bin Laden but Bush would not grant it. The CIA was left with trying to recruit one of the terrorist as a spy, but it failed.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause You mean like how Obama uses the IRS to punish his political enemies? And blames everything on the evil republicans?
4. Supremacy of the MilitaryYou mean like how Obama is trying to create a "civilian" army to rival the military?
5. Rampant Sexism Obama does not pay women in his administration the same wages as men with the same jobs.
6. Controlled Mass Media You mean like how all but FOX are in the tank for Obama?
7. Obsession with National SecurityYou mean like how Obama has strengthened and enhanced and expanded the Patriot act?

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

The 14 Defining Characteristics Of Fascism

Any of that ring a bell?

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
I don't see being pround of your country as a bad thing people all over the world have that.
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Opposing gay marriage does not make you a fascist.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The right and left both do that.
4. Supremacy of the Military
What is that supposed to mean that you support a strong military or want to live under a dictator?
5. Rampant Sexism
You could make a case for that against both the right and left.
6. Controlled Mass Media
Don't have that here though the majority of it seems to lean left.
7. Obsession with National Security
Is little interest in it supposed to be better?
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
We don't have that and no one is calling for it

9. Corporate Power is Protected
Which both parties do
10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Does not happen here despite claim otherwise
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
What about the disdain intellectuals show for others?
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
How do you define obsession? What you call obsession another calls passion.
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Another thing both the left and right share.
14. Fraudulent Elections"
Another thing we don't have despite the claims otherwise.

Here's a better link, to his original article, but I have no serious issues with his list since those are accurate as far as German and Italy during WWII.

Fascism Anyone?

My apologies for the blogger who inserted "Dr." but that matters not in the end since it makes no difference whether he is Doctor Britt or Plumber Britt. What matters is, is he correct and his list is a solid start to a more accurate discussion of Fascism which is an easy word to throw around and usually done incorrectly.

fascism

noun (Concise Encyclopedia)

Philosophy of government that stresses the primacy and glory of the state, unquestioning obedience to its leader, subordination of the individual will to the state's authority, and harsh suppression of dissent. Martial virtues are celebrated, while liberal and democratic values are disparaged. Fascism arose during the 1920s and '30s partly out of fear of the rising power of the working classes; it differed from contemporary communism (as practiced under Joseph Stalin) by its protection of business and landowning elites and its preservation of class systems. The leaders of the fascist governments of Italy (1922–43), Germany (1933–45), and Spain (1939–75)—Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, and Francisco Franco—were portrayed to their publics as embodiments of the strength and resolve necessary to rescue their nations from political and economic chaos. Japanese fascists (1936–45) fostered belief in the uniqueness of the Japanese spirit and taught subordination to the state and personal sacrifice. See also totalitarianism; neofascism.

Evidence that the CIA told Bush Al Queda had operatives in the U.S.?

In the first place, Mr. Britt's 14 points are pure bullshit. In the second place, liberalism has a fascism problem because the economic policies that liberals support are virtually indistinguishable from the economic policies that fascists support.

I disagree, and his point define the Fascists during WWII quite well.

You are still stuck on capitalism good, socialism bad, neither of which you understand. Carry on.
