It might not be true. I get a couple of fake credit card warnings a month and none of them are real. What you can do is contact the credit cared people before you respond to the e mail or the phone call.

April 10th? Bullshit. This should not take these guys so long. Even with coronavirus. This is done with a flick of somebody's finger. Ten days my ass. No matter what your politics, I'm rooting for you on this one.I'm glad that they caught it. This happened to me about five years ago. Somebody around Chicago tried to use my number to buy a couple of thousand in jewelry. I've never been to Chicago.
In the 1990's, I paid a medical bill by check, and somebody who worked at the billing agency tried to use my account to pay for cell phones for her friends. It bounced because I didn't have that much money in the account but I got the name of the company that was supposed to be the payee. She even stole the tax ID number from an ambulance company and claimed that she had an ambulance company. I just called loss prevention at the cell-phone company and called the manager at the ambulance company. They were not amused. The bitch even called me, trying to buy me off, and I wondered where she had gotten my home and work numbers. Turns out that she got this from the form that you fill out when you go to a doctor's office and they give you a form on a clipboard.
Yeah the card was deactivated today and the new one will be arriving around april 10th. So I have to live off credit for now
Good thing. At least they were on the ball. This "ten business days" thing is so bogus, with or without the work-place problems that currently result from the coronavirus.April 10th? Bullshit. If in doubt, use a pre-paid card.
