Linked video has nothing to do with Trump or Russia. It's just a commie trying to put a positive spin on human workers being replaced by automated systems.
What you saw was the future. You can deny it all you wish but it's coming. I would say by 2050 this is exactly where we will be at. The groundwork is already being laid. At some point, we are going to have to figure out what we are going to do with all that labor that has been replaced. And even YOUR job will be either completely replaced or greatly reduced. Notice, I didn't even bother to ask you what your job is. It won't matter.
We are entering a new Industrial Revolution.
At what point did I deny it? I was just telling people what the video is about. That guy is pretty optimistic about automation, seems to have great faith in humanity's ability to cope with not having shit to do. Personally I don't think its going to be so easy to adjust.
It's not going to be easy to adjust. But we had damned well start adjusting now. Our whole economic pattern needs to start changing. And, yes, it's going to look one hell of lot like what you think is "Socialism" and the redistribution of wealth where the bulk of the "Taxes" will be paid by the rich. The Wages will be living wages even with as little as a 12 hour per week job. A complete rethink of wealth is going to have to happen.
We are already seeing signs of it now. Those "New Jobs" that are touted and counted are mostly part time jobs of 20 hours per week or less. And it's going to get worse as more and more "Tasks" are automated and AI'd. No job is safe from now on. Not your bankers, Stock Trader, Teamster, Dock Worker, Waitress, Financial Planner, Pilots, Warehouse Workers, none. Most of the ones I listed will be gone in less than 10 years.
Amazon already has a working fully automated Warehouse that they are just itching to get into full scale. You honestly think that their automated drone delivery is the only thing they have worked on? The Drone Delivery is actually further in the future than their totally automated distribution centers. That's going to happen long before the Trucks get automated. There goes 30,000 or more workers. And at the same time, Amazon will AI much of their Management. There goes another few thousand jobs.
There will soon be absolutely no reason to ship a factory overseas. Given that it's all automated and only has one small group of offices for Live Managers in the whole plant, it's cheaper to set it up in the US and avoid all the import and shipping costs. There goes thousands more jobs.
No, it's not going to be painless. Believe it or not, Yang knows this. I once thought he was premature in his views. Now, I know he''s dead on.
