There is disgusting people in this world who love money an power more than humanity. Even when they knew that Thalidomide was doing to the babies they pushed it to make sure people would continue use it. Totally unaware of what it would do to their children the parents of these victims trusted the medical community. Every time I here about vaccines and avoidable medications being pushed on pregnant mothers I cringe.

The victims of nazi pharmaceuticals that have survived tell their amazing stories.

I watched something on Netflex awhile back on Thalidomide survivors. Many of them were in the UK.

Yes many that have survived that are in this video are in the UK and Canada. One in Germany and they put in the translation for we would know her story too. It also tells the originator of the drug and that is enough to really piss one off. To think a mass murderer only got four years and then was released to wreak havoc with this devastating drug really is irritating.

Link?
It is all in the video. Perhaps watch it and you will get all the answers to questions you may have about it.

What is the thalidomide tragedy?
Abstract. Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children.

The justice was done years ago. The survivors are old now and got their settlements long ago.

Are you just now hearing about this?

This is another case of tragedy for a buck.

Apparently there are still issues according to the documentary, not everyone received money to insure they could survive with those disabilities and it is still being marketed and babies still being born with physical abnormalities from it.

It is no longer marketed and no babies deformed by this drug are being born. From the quality of the film, this documentary is quite old.

It is still being used for certain applications. Since it is FDA approved some of the other countries use it and not always for the specific purpose in which approval by FDA was made as those countries have lax regulatory agencies.

Other countries are not a concern.
It is approved by our FDA and is still used here and in other countries.

If in fact other countries are not a concern not one single dime should ever go to other countries but that is not the case. When any company pushes crap that our FDA approves and it causes issues that reflects on this country as a whole in a negative manner.

>>> In the UK, the British pharmaceutical company The Distillers Company (Biochemicals) Ltd, a subsidiary of Distillers Co. Ltd (now part of Diageo plc), marketed thalidomide under the brand name Distaval as a remedy for morning sickness throughout the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Their advertisement claimed that "Distaval can be given with complete safety to pregnant women and nursing mothers without adverse effect on mother or child...Outstandingly safe Distaval has been prescribed for nearly three years in this country."
>>> Hence, in 1957, Chemie Grünenthal began aggressively marketing thalidomide – now recognized as a powerful synthetic tranquilizer and antiemetic – in West-Germany as an over-the-counter drug for nausea and morning sickness.[9]

You lied?

What did our FDA approve it for?
Morning sickness early in pregnancy -- ironically, precisely when it would cause the most harm to the developing baby.

No. Today Thalidomide is used in Leprosy and cancer treatments. They figured out that it prevented the development of veins and arteries. Just what is needed to have a tumor grow. So now they use it to prevent growth of tumors. A specific kind.

It is not used to treat morning sickness now. Stop the hysteria will you?

Oh but it's available, and severe birth defects can be cited by the doctor to justify an abortion.

It is available. And used in extreme cases of cancer. And Leprosy. Not morning sickness. Any Doctor who prescribed it for morning sickness would lose their license in a blink of an eye. The FDA and DEA monitor prescriptions by computer now.

But hey. Don’t let the facts get in the way of your histrionics.
