The lawyers backed off when the doctor refused to say her prognosis was life threatening which is in accord with Texas law. Apparently this chick just wanted an abortion......which she got...win win!!

Monday's ruling appeared to reject a key argument by the plaintiffs in that case - that doctors' good-faith belief should be enough to meet the exception.

Cox's fetus was diagnosed on Nov. 27 with trisomy 18, a genetic abnormality that usually results in miscarriage, stillbirth or death soon after birth.

So it would appear that you can have a medical emergency abortion in Texas if there's a danger to the mothers life/health, for example, an ectopic pregnancy. As you can see and read, her condition doesn't meet this criteria, so why the confusion and anger?

It's there in black and white, how did the first court get it so wrong?

Simply put, if it had been, for example ectopic, she would have got an abortion.
