Texas Man and His Dog Found Dead After Becoming Trapped Inside Car

The tragedy is it's all explained in the owners manual!!!

If I heard it once I heard it a million times from my dad, "Read the book!" Anything new in the household that had an owners manual/instructions those were his words. And you'd best not ever screw something up that would indiate you hadn't read said book, for it would not make him happy. As a result, not a doubt in my mind I would have known exactly where that exit switch was located.

There are little metal rods specificly for breaking auto glass. By focusing the impact into a tiny point it does it really easily. .

It's called a screwdriver and you can buy one for a buck at wally. No need to spend $30 on some specialty item.

and you're driving a truck, not a vette, with your toolbox behind your seat. He wasn't. and that little tool runs $10-$20 at the most..

Also, most screwdrivers have a long shank, would could make the tip slide when it hits the glass..

I'll stick with the item designed for the job.
Shitzspeedos knows everything. He can't open a beer without assistance but he can shatter a car window with his sheer strength

Two blonds were walking on opposite sides of a river and one blond yelled to the other, "Like, how do I get to the other side of the river?" To which the other blond replied, " Duh! You ARE on the other side of the river!"

You believe this?? Why didn't he break a window?

Texas Man and His Dog Found Dead After Becoming Trapped Inside Car - NBC News

june 10 2015
A U.S. Army veteran from Texas and his dog were found dead after an electronic malfunction apparently caused the pair to become trapped inside the man's sports car.

Port Arthur police officials say 72-year-old James Rogers and his Shih Tzu, named "Baby Girl" Leia, were found unresponsive inside the Chevy Corvette on Monday afternoon.

Police believe Rogers became trapped inside the car with electric locks and windows after a battery cable came loose and locked the doors and disabled the horn, NBC affiliate KBMT reported
The 2007 Corvette does not have manual door lock, leaving Rogers and Leia unable to escape and likely dying of heat, according to KBMT, quoting fire officials.
That's nutz. There are multiple levers he could have used to get out. One is right at the bottom of the door next to the seat... there's a manual lever there for the door. The hatch can also be opened by pulling the cable that's sitting in the open right behind the driver seat... the other... unless it was a zo6 it had a "removeable" roof panel, you just pull the lever on both sides and push.

Nobody reads the owner manual. It's just useless lawyer crap like "never drive with sun shade in place".

Holy shit! We've become so obsessed with technology that we've lost some sense.

Who makes a car without manual locks?
I had Hell finding a pickup without electric windows and locks.

I might not ever be able to find another one.

BMW had cars that could not be unlocked with the manual plungers if the security system had triggered almost fifteen years ago. I had to tow one with the trans in park & the steering cranked to the side...what a pain in the balls THAT was.

Car windows are hard to break without special tools designed to do it easily. Have tried breaking a car window's with a Maglite flashlight to no avail. And you may have seen that news reporter doing a segment and whacking one with a hammer rpeeatedly not breaking it.

They're not easy to break like in the movies and tv shows. :)

Flashlight?? Made of plastic or rubber? . Sure - that won't work. But he could have found something that would have worked.

A Maglite is METAL, you dumb shit. (Steel alloy of some sort.) The larger ones (mine is a 4-cell) are serious weapons and can do some serious damage.

UGH, we just got done /dragging/ a 68 mustang rag top up onto a trailer so it can get fixed up for one of the kids. All four wheels had rusted solid on us, then the bastard car broke all four tires loose on the drive and rolled into the mechanics shop sweet as could be. Took out about 30 feet of my unpaved driveway stones and we'd spent 6 hours to get the thing out of its parking spot without hitting the shed (had to turn the ass end about 30 degrees with a lever system of logs, and sled it sheets of plywood and 8x2's), then I got to spend another 2 hours fixing the rocks so the driveway didn't look like a war zone. Oh and six cans of rust-ease heh

Spark Plug thrown against it.....That is all you need.

Try breaking a car window with your fist.
Or by throwing your dog at it.

You'll quickly come to wish you had something with a sharp point and something hard to whack it with.

On all cars you hit the lower corner of the window near where the car closes and it will crack or shatter the window with enough force.

Just keep a screwdriver in the glove box and it will work...

The 07 Vette coupe came stock with a removable roof panel. Everything is plastic anyway. Maybe the guy had some senior citizen problems.

Not to be a spoil sport but this link is nearly five years old. How is it in any way "current"?

I suspect I could kick out a window if I had to.
