No...let them go. It's a win/win. And I speak as someone who's mother and all her ancestors for over 150 years were Texans.
Mexico started the war, at the conclusion of which we purchased the land in question.Offered money for and Mexico rejected the offer as an insult to their National Sovereignty....so the US manufactured a border incident in order to declare war.
That could be the stupidest comparison I have heard on this board all week.Leftists supported the secession of Kosovo but not TX. Why is that?
So. A hypothetical independent country of Texas would financially be fine. They are a large enough. Have numerous warm water ports, and would be a significant energy exporter. in other words they would be fine. And 5 of the top 10 oil refineries are NOT in Texas.
75% of the natural gas reserves and 60% of all oil production is NOT in Texas.
Then what’s stopping them from leaving? So. A hypothetical independent country of Texas would financially be fine. They are a large enough. Have numerous warm water ports, and would be a significant energy exporter. in other words they would be fine.
What happens if Texas secedes
1. Texans who are loyal Americans would move to the United States
To be replaced by the Texas military and all the jobs they would create…..2. The US Military and all their equipment would be withdrawn taking all those Federal Jobs with them.
3. Mexico would see an unprotected Texas and use the opportunity to take back Texas. All Texans of Mexican descent would support the annexation. The US, irate over secession would not lift a finger
4. Republicans would lose all of Texas’ Electoral Votes along with any chance to retake the White House
Many things I’m sure. One of them isn’t financial worries. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you will, should or even want to do something. Then what’s stopping them from leaving?
Mexico has an Army of 300,000Ypu think Texans are going to leave? LOL ok. Texas is one of the few states that has citizens who rabidly identify with their state.
To be replaced by the Texas military and all the jobs they would create…..
A México wouldn’t.
B Mexico couldnt
C A failed state of Texas doesn’t benefit the US
The percentages would be reworked. Not sure exactly how that would work out.
No, they really didn't. The understood border between Texas and Mexico was the Nueces River....the US Army intentionally crossed over and planted themselves at the Rio Grande.....a foreign army on Mexican soil is an act of war.Mexico started the war, at the conclusion of which we purchased the land in question.
Maybe Mexico can take over Texas and then offer to pay them a measly amount for it. That would be ironic justice.Mexico has an Army of 300,000
Texas National Guard has 20,000 and relies on the US Army for its equipment.
Mexico also has resentment over Texas being stolen from them
Easy conquest to take back Texas
US wouldn’t lift a finger to save a former state that was disloyal to our country
Dude, texass ain't going nowhere. 1/3-1/2 of the state budget comes from the feds, and lets not even talk about who funds the border patrol and the oil subsidies and other shit.
Yes, they really did.No, they really didn't. ...

BTW Texas’s GDP is bigger than Mexico‘s……..Mexico has an Army of 300,000
Texas National Guard has 20,000 and relies on the US Army for its equipment.

And if they let the state succeed they lose all the subsidies for them.5 of the top 10 oil refineries in the US are in Texas.
25% of the natural gas reserves are in Texas and 40% of all oil production. They’d probably be ok
