We could but I suspect we won't. The US has but only a very short time before it falls.
Nah, competent people are in charge now. We'll clean up the mess.

Texas would make their own immigration laws, which would be to pick them up and ship them back. I doubt many will be clamoring to go to Texas for a quick trip back to where they came from. The entire Country of Texas border would be in Texas. Why would Texas give a shit who KKKalifornia lets in?Pretty sure the Country of Texas would cut off the border, and all you Dimwinger's cheap labor. If Texas wants to become part of Mexico, who are we to stand in their way?![]()
Do y'all really think the entire border is in texas?
Are they gonna build a border wall around the western and northern borders?![]()
Break the law..and tell me if it's 'working'?Who's gonna tell them they can't, our legal system? We don't have a legal system, or at least one that works.
That's a shame. If you see posts in rinky dinky right wing message boards claiming that Texas voted to secede, dismiss the fake news.
A state cannot secede. There are zero ways to do it. They can't pass a law to secede.. They can do nothing.
Yet even before Texas formally rejoined the nation, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that secession was not legal, and thus, even during the rebellion, Texas continued to be a state. In the 1869 case Texas v. White, the Court held that individual states could not unilaterally secede from the Union and that the acts of the insurgent Texas Legislature — even if ratified by a majority of Texans — were "absolutely null."
If there were any doubt remaining after that, late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia set it to rest more than a century later with his response to a letter from a screenwriter in 2006 asking if there is a legal basis for secession.
“The answer is clear,” Scalia wrote. “If there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede. (Hence, in the Pledge of Allegiance, 'one Nation, indivisible.')”![]()

Hey, Texplainer: Britain voted to leave the European Union. Can Texas secede from the United States?www.texastribune.org
Too funny! Most Texans are Americans--you wannabe Sam Houston's are outta luck.Do you know why Texas has the right to secede? If you see posts in rinky dinky right wing message boards claiming that Texas voted to secede, dismiss the fake news.

Because you motherfucking pussies will not do a goddamn thing about it.
The law of conquest rules all.
How so?Oh honey, you have no idea how screwed Texas would be going it alone.....If Texas and like minded states seceded, you'd be left with the United Ghetto of America. If Texas wants to become part of Mexico, who are we to stand in their way?![]()

Missouri would join in.The Left beats up on Texas all the time. The reality is the American Left needs Texas to help pay for all of the shit they refuse to cut spending for. Texas threatening to leave is significant. Remember when Bernie Sanders’ Vermont threatened to become part of Canada? No one gave two shits because Vermont hardly contributes compared to Texas.
If Texas left it would most likely bring Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico with it which would mean the U.S. would lose vital energy and ports needed for the nation besides a massive port of entries the U.S. uses for trade with Mexico and Central America...
So reality the U.S. need Texas just like it need California!
They can petition the US Congress for permission to leave the Union. If you see posts in rinky dinky right wing message boards claiming that Texas voted to secede, dismiss the fake news.

They will leave on their own cross dresser.Ironically more than a few leftists want Trump voters to be sent to Orwellian re-education camps so yourWill Trump put on a cowboy hat and move to Texas? And what about the millions of Texans who voted against Trump? Put em in camps? Re-educate ‘em on dude ranches?
comment is about as sardonic and unfortunate as can be.
Yeah, sure, but what are you gonna do wit ‘em, cowboy?

If Texas wants to become part of Mexico..AGAIN. Mexico made the mistake of letting white settlers occupy what is now Texas. All those 'immigrants' had to do was agree to abide by Mexican law. They agreed but as soon as they thought they had the numbers they rebelled against Mexico. Maybe on a subconscious level the right wing xenophobes think something like that might happen again, only in reverse..enough Hispanics occupy Texas they might want to rejoin Mexico..(chuckle)If Texas wants to become part of Mexico, who are we to stand in their way?![]()

I appreciate the sentiment, but your comment actually misrepresents Sam Houston, who fought hard and long against secession. He was a complex man, a pro-Union slaveholder, whose last fight against secessionists in Texas was to ruin his political career there. He died in 1863, shortly after the fall of Vicksburg:Too funny! Most Texans are Americans--you wannabe Sam Houston's are outta luck.

Well, maybe you wont need to fight a war with Mexico. It may well be that after a couple of decades Mexico will be within your state without a war.I am bloodthirsty for war. Bring it on. We'll be happy to rid the earth of some goddamn Mexicans
