Texas bill would make identifying as transgender a felony punishable by jail

A new Texas bill just filed would make it a felony to knowingly make a false statement identifying your sex to a government agency or private employer. Thoughts USMB?

I highly doubt this passes and if it did, it wouldn't pass the courts. Stupid legislation like this gets introduced all time. Usually, they never even see a vote.

Progs agendas could have taken a commonsense approach on some issues. We have real problems, and we spend time and money on this. Having 6-year-olds as just one crazy agenda is saying there is a He/She in the other car is stupid.
What the fuckup are you posting about.

So, the law is not about “identifying as transgender.” It is about lying about one’s sex.

Seems very reasonable.

If you’re applying for a lifeguard job at a public swimming pool and you say, “I’m biologically male and middle-aged but I’m trans and I identify as a lesbian teenage girl, so when I change into my swimsuit with the other teenage girls, I’ll pop a boner,” then you’re being honest.

If you say, “I’m a woman,” that is not honest.
Or the state has set asides for contracts to women owned business. Bruno changes his name to Sally and claims on the form he's a woman to get the contract.

That this issue was totally overcooked in the USA and Europe is understood.

Lefties and Right-wingers simply can't let common sense prevail.

I grew up in South-East-Asia and trannies were termed in local "Aqua" - and no one incl. the trannie was offended if someone said:
Hey look there is an Aqua in the car - it was very common that they even waved back, see e.g. today's Thailand.

So some lefty nut comes up and states: "YOU CAN'T discriminate" and call them names
or some Rightwinger comes up and states: Gas em all

Now try and find the middle between these two Nutcases!! - the problem IMO is that the "normal's" never spoke up but let the two extremes simply battle it out. So before the Lefties were in control of the governmnet, and presently the Right-wingers are in control of the government.

Therefore NOTHING good can come out of this.

Did you even read it? It's about filling out forms. TX is saying they want either male or female. Anything else will be a lie, and lying on a gov't form has ALWAYS been a crime.

Since you ARE biologically only a male or female this is not illegal at all.

Thats a little different from your headline

The new law would make it a felony to tell the government you areca different sex than what you are saying

I mentioned in another thread that $ex change operations can be quite thorough if you can afford it. I have one friend that used to be Bob and is now Stella (names changed to protect the innocent). Her family owns a huge HC enterprise. If 'trans' is chicks with dicks, she's not in that club. Just another non-child bearing woman.

When your main objective is to pick on marginalized minorities of people, you can call yourself a fascist, with pride!

Why is the government asking? It would also be a felony for private business.

Yes limiting them to answer a gov't form honestly, either male or female.

You fucking people want to pretend to care about women's rights and you can't even define what a woman is.
If someone transitions to a different gender, then they’re not lying.

What is the usual punishment for lying on a driver's license or a passport?

https://codes.findlaw.com/tx/transportation-code/transp-sect-521-451/

(a) Except as provided by Section 521.452, a person may not:

(1) display, cause or permit to be displayed, or have in the person's possession a driver's license or certificate that the person knows is fictitious or has been altered;
(2) lend the person's driver's license or certificate to another person or knowingly permit another person to use the person's driver's license or certificate;
(3) display or represent as the person's own a driver's license or certificate not issued to the person;
(4) possess more than one currently valid driver's license or more than one currently valid certificate; or
(5) in an application for an original, renewal, or duplicate driver's license or certificate:

(A) provide a false name, false address, or a counterfeit document; or
(B) knowingly make a false statement, conceal a material fact, or otherwise commit fraud.

So probably this law just adds "misrepresent your sex" to the list.

Should be the same punishment as lying on any government document.
