not quite the kinda tune I had in mind for this thread... but I like it anyhow...


eta: when I think of torch songs, I think of a bittersweet slowish tune, often in something other than a Major key, that could be accompanied by piano or other single instrument...

with the singer mebbe wringing a handkerchief... and wearing a hibiscus blossom in the hair... unless, of course, the singer's a dude...


and it's all about the singer's impassioned feelings for the person being addressed in the song... usually after the good times are only a memory with no hope of returning...
