Tell me . . .

The fact is that charitable donations are not enough. People are too greedy.

They never will be as long as people think the government can fix the problem. That just means the government will fail, charities will fail, and no one will be better served, except the corrupt politicians.

It has worked. We don't have children starving in the streets or suffering from debilitating disease and unable to get the help they need.

^^^

That is the kind of thing that goes on in 3rd world countries with no social safety nets in place.

What experience do you have in third world countries?

None thankfully. You?
Enough experience to know that the programs that are working the best in some of those countries aren't a social safety net. Sure they have some growing to do, but when the countries' goals are to meet the minimum GDP requirements and stability to achieve international funding, they have found out that social safety nets don't increase revenues (in fact, they have the exact opposite effect).

Hmm. Is that why so many are creating social safety nets?

Have you read any of the links I posted?

Yes I did, even where it indicated that about half of India's support program funds were wasted or stolen. Perhaps the problem you are having with me is that you have confused me for one of the standard nit-wits you are used to arguing with.

Right, because that money ends up going to their own version of "corporate welfare" where again, the rich take from the poor to enrich themselves even poor. Really, the state of affairs with the attitudes of people towards the poor is just disgusting, shameful and embarrassing.

You will get no argument from me in that regards. Of course I have steadily made the point that is what you get when you rely on the government and corrupt politicians to accomplish what they cannot accomplish in the first place. I am not saying that it wouldn't be a wonderful idea, I am saying it isn't working and will never work.

It has kept people from starving in our country and also they have healthcare.

They don't have healthcare, they have health insurance. Politicians paying corporations with legislation (that's corporate welfare).

So how do you think the poor will employ the poor?

If you are voting for either Hillary or Trump, tell me why.

1. What is about these candidates that attracts you?
2. Which of your chosen candidate's platforms/stances do you agree with?
3. Why are you against the "other guy"?

PLEASE answer the questions and stay on topic. Thanks. :)

Hillary Clinton has far, far more pluses than minuses- in my opinion.
1
  1. She is sane (I agree with Bloomberg)
  2. She is not thin skinned, doesn't have short attention span, and is not prone to decisions based upon emotions
  3. She has actual, relevant experience- as a Presidential advisor, a Senator, and Secretary of State.
  4. She knows how to work with people- as a Senator she demonstrated this by getting things done for New York and New York City, especially after 9/11.
  5. She has been working for Americans for 30 years- working on legislation to protect children, for healthcare, for 9/11 responders. Her primary goal has been the benefit of Americans- not hers
  6. She has actual knowledge of the Middle East and Islamic Terrorism
2
  1. Choice- she is pro-choice and I agree with that.
  2. Immigration- she is a moderate who is not biased against people from other countries.
  3. Infrastructure- she is promoting comprehensive overhaul of our national infrastructure- which is both necessary and would drive good paying jobs.
  4. She is for American worker's getting paid well.
3.
  1. Trump admires dictators like Putin and Hussein.
  2. Trump is thin skinned and very easily offended.
  3. Trump has suggested a 45% tax on imports from China- which would mean a 45% tax on a large part of what poor and Middle class Americans consume.
  4. Trump's economic policies will result in a trade war.
  5. Trump has signaled to Russia that he might not defend Europe if Putin got aggressive- always a bad signal
  6. Trump has signaled that he might not defend Japan(and live up to our treaty obligations) or Taiwan.
  7. Trump has suggested that both Japan and South Korea get their own nukes. That should make anyone pause- Nukes for Japan?
  8. Trump appeals to the worst instincts of Americans- fear, racism, xenophobia- he is a classic passive aggressor making outragious comments attacking Mexican Americans and Muslim Americans and then claiming that everyone else is to blame for what he says.
  9. Trump has never done anything for others- it has always been for himself. And that includes running for President.

I don't think anyone here wants to see children or elderly suffer. The Fed govt takes too big of a cut to funnel our earned money into "the poor". Feds live large, party at will and retire well early. They travel the world renting entire floors of 5-star hotels. Fix this problem. Note the amount to Fed pensions in usdebtclock.org. then look at SSI payout (we paid for it). I rest my case.

Who said anything about that? Don't know where you are coming up with these things.

From you....

The poor don't employ anyone now....Do they?

Some don't care about the poor. That much is obvious. The way they see it is if they can't do anything for me, then I don't want to help them and just let them die for all I care. That is how many see the poor, just as they always have. "I've got mine . . . "

The Real Reason for the Growing Gap Between Rich and Poor

Today, nearly one out of every three working Americans is in a part-time job. Many are consultants, freelancers and independent contractors. Two-thirds are living paycheck to paycheck.

Thanks obama care,...
