Teachable Moment Indeed

Asking a vague, dismissive question isn't actually conversation.
I’m trying to sort through your gibberish to dispute a point

All I see is rambling “I’m not happy”

Your call. If you have an intelligent rebuttal, or specific questions, I'm happy to indulge them. Otherwise, I think I was pretty clear.

What exactly am I rebutting?

That you ain’t happy?

For years, decades really, I've been arguing with liberals who seemingly want every important social function regulated, controlled or outright owned by the government. In general my objections are dismissed as reactionary complaints from a "stingy conservative" - but that's not it. Never was.

My comments, always ignored, centered on the folly of putting these services at the mercy of an election. If the government controls education, healthcare, welfare, etc ... then education, healthcare, welfare, etc .. are subject to the political winds. They are at risk every time a new administration takes over. We're seeing it unfold now.

Maybe liberals will learn something from all this.

Sometimes freedom is more important than "free".
The Trump administration is too dumb to teach anyone anything.

I'm pretty sure the OP is thrilled with how things are playing out.
I'm actually not. I want smaller, limited government - but it's a pointless exercise without real consensus on the matter. Which we don't have. When Trump inevitably steps on his dick, the socialists will rush in to "save the day" -- with more big government bullshit.

We need real leadership, someone who can make the case for good government and persuade people to support the cause. Trump's bull-in-a-china-shop thrashing will do more harm than good.

Which is exactly my point. If you put government in charge of something, eventually, idiots will be in charge of that something.

They're so dumb they overcame your media machine and lawfare, completely locking you imbeciles out of government when you thought you had him defeated once and for all.

Hmmm.

Wait a sec...

Whose dumb again? ;)
They did in an impressive way harness the “poorly educated”, as Trump called them, but I prefer to call them poorly informed. If they ever get weaned off of FOX et al., there’ll be hell to pay when they realize the billionaires aren’t really on their side.

Over here we get to vote the govt out. Im sure you have that option over there.
That's weak tea. The problem is when the majority tilts stupid. If things are controlled by government, you get stupid - like it or not.

What put Trump over the edge was former Democrat voters, including minorities.

But I prefer you stay stuck on stupid.

It's good for MAGA. ;)

In other words, you're one of those black-pilled dipshits who was probably saying Trump could never win.

We'll do this without ya bub, kindly step aside.

Oh, that's right.

You were never actually in the ring to begin with.

My mistake.

I agree, low information voters are good for MAGA, but the question is are they good for America? The last two months say NO.

No. I'll be right there standing in your way whenever I can. You morons are paving the way for full-blown socialism.

This commitment they have on this issue played a large role in the rise of Trumpism. I can't get them to admit or acknowledge it.

For me, the message remains the same for both ends of the spectrum: The goal you're trying to reach is not the problem; the problem is the way you're trying to reach it.

Both ends constantly over-react, over-compensate, over-correct. Constantly. And they don't learn from their mistakes.
