I keep seeing this statistic with no links or charts and I continue to wonder: "How do you figure?"

I earn next to nothing (mostly by choice) compared to my siblings and friends and I pay taxes... I can't possibly be among the top 60% of wage earners in this country - if I am, we're fucked! There will never be enough money to pay for the war, let alone anything else...

O.k. Skull, I studied the document you linked and saw NOTHING that shows 40% of voters pay -0- in taxes.

I did find the chart that shows percentage of income dedicated to taxes from 1900 to present quite interesting, but that was not my question.
