It must, because Trump's tariffs were an illegal power grab of House responsibilities. Doesn't matter that the Republicans rolled over and showed their bellies. Without the House passing tariffs they were always going to get struck down. It's Constitution 101.

But look! It's not China lining up to get rebates, it's American citizens - the ones who paid for Trump's Big Con.

Anyone posting in this thread really needs to admit that factual reality.

Good catch. I saw that this morning. And I called it from the getgo. Just one correction, American BUSINESSES, not citizens. You know, the ones that actually stroked those tariff checks. Americans won't see a damn penny of those refunds.

I would bet folding money that Costco finds a way to refund people. Its a big part of their brand and goodwill. As they record every transaction, they could figure it out.

Walmart and Publix could, also, but they won't.

I would take that bet. There is currently a class action lawsuit against meatpackers for price-fixing. A settlement has been reached and consumers can file claims by proving they purchased meat over the last several years from these companies. What consumer has those records? But Cotsco, with their membership lists and transaction history, as well as most major grocery chains with loyalty cards, has those records. Why are they not offering to assist?

Bwahahahahahaha. Good one. No customer is getting a refund.

Then you are a fool. I posted this back in September.

I have participated in multiple threads about the tariffs. Who pays them, do corporations pass them on, how much does each American household pay, will it impact job creation, all the good stuff. But I got to admit, I am thinking, this was the plan all along.

Yes, the importer pays the tariff. It is paid at the point of entry. And yes, companies pass the cost of that tariff to the consumer. Sure, they try to mitigate that cost, but they have to pass it on. Who else is going to absorb that cost, the shareholders? The importing company? Hell no, not going to happen.

The SCOTUS is dominated by members of the Federalist Society. Recently, Trump himself has expressed regrets for giving them so much power. So, the SCOTUS agrees with the Appellate court, Trump's tariffs are unconstitutional, and then the Treasury department strokes refund checks to all the corporations and companies that paid those tariffs. Where does that leave the consumer? In the end, we paid the bulk of the tariffs, what do we get? Not a damn thing. Those refund checks go straight to the bottom line of the corporations and companies that paid them. They passed the cost on. I mean maybe it is time to go long on the market. Walmart stock is looking pretty bullish right now.

So, the Treasury doesn't get jackshit. Nothing goes toward the deficit in regards to this tariff revenue, but the consumers, you and I, we got fucked. We get nothing back, and make no mistake, the price increases these tariffs have initiated, they are not going away. I mean from the corporations standpoint, it was a damn genius move. A big free increase in income, higher margins, I mean this shit is starting to piss me off. I think that was the plan all along. You Trumpnuts, you allowed this to happen. Wake up.

Maybe if you all would stop complaining about every goddam thing, I'd care more.
But I just tune it out anymore because so much of what you guys say is a lie.

Nobody is getting any "Rebates" for the tariffs. We only pay more because of them.

There’s no limit to Trump’s ignorance and stupidity.

//*turn out to be only a nuisance delay. Tariff charges Re-issued at baseline 10% with 15% threatened. USSC has TDS causing only headache and loss of $166B to be paid back that had been collected. Now small countries Thatcher less than 10% prior get bumped up to 10% to keep it all going. *//

As of February 24, 2026, a universal 10% ad valorem baseline tariff is in effect on most imports under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, following the Supreme Court’s ruling that invalidated the use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) for imposing tariffs.

Certain sector-specific tariffs also remain in place, including:

50% tariffs on steel, aluminum, and some copper products under Section 232.
25% tariffs on cars and auto parts.
Exemptions apply for goods covered by the USMCA agreement and certain critical goods like pharmaceuticals, beef, and oranges.
President Trump has threatened to raise the global tariff to 15%, but as of now, the 10% rate remains in effect and is set to last for 150 days unless extended with congressional approval. Additionally, investigations under Section 301 could lead to new tariffs on countries accused of unfair trade practices.
