That’s interesting because I too experienced migraines from Hell. At university in the early 80s, I was inflicted with a horrific episodic migraine, I had never experienced prior. I was completely incapacitated mentally and physically, with my head exploding and retching. The so called doctors and nurses assumed I was on drugs, and left me to suffer for hours on a gurney. I suffered this exact same experience several more times before I figured out how to prevent it.
I’ve found I have to religiously wear sunglasses on bright sunny days. Sharp light can trigger my migraines. Also not eating enough, at least when I was younger.
I’ve had several spinal taps, because the asshole doctors and nurses thought I might have meningitis.
Once the episode advanced to full-blown, I would lose my mind. I didn’t know my name, DOB, where I was, etc. A Nazi-like nurse gave me a rectal thermometer, because I was so profane and loud.
I know the beginning signs. I’d see auras, lights flashing, and lose my peripheral vision. I usually can prevent it from progressing by laying down in a dark room. Sometimes taking 4 Ibuprofen.
I do my best to stay away from doctors and hospitals. They will kill you.
